The Global Gaming League (GGL) said it raised $10 million in a SAFE round led by Solyco Capital, according to an announcement dated April 8, 2025. The financing is intended to support a multi-title gaming-entertainment league built around celebrity-owned teams and live competitions. The announcement does not disclose the SAFE’s valuation cap or discount, a complete investor list, or an audited breakdown of how the money will be spent.
What the $10 million announcement establishes
GGL described the financing as a SAFE round led by Solyco Capital. A SAFE is a financing instrument that can convert into equity in a later financing or other specified event; the company’s release does not provide the terms needed to determine how this particular SAFE converts or what ownership stake it may represent. The announcement names the lead investor but does not publish a full list of participants.
The release presents the raise as support for GGL’s planned league, but it does not provide an audited use-of-proceeds breakdown. The announcement is therefore evidence of what GGL said it raised and planned, not independent confirmation of the financing documents or of later operating results. GGL’s April 8, 2025 announcement is the primary source for the round.
What Global Gaming League says it is building
GGL describes its project as a gaming-entertainment league rather than an esports league. Its proposed format centers on celebrity-owned teams of four, bringing together professional and casual players with influencers, actors, athletes, and artists for live competition. The games named in the announcement span first-person shooters, sports, fighting games, new releases, and retro favorites.

That positioning distinguishes the concept along several format dimensions: multiple game genres rather than a single-title focus, mixed-skill teams rather than a stated professional-only roster, and entertainment-led presentation alongside competition. These are features GGL says it intends to offer; the funding release does not demonstrate that the format has already achieved a particular audience, competitive standard, or commercial performance.
Who the initial celebrity team owners are
The April 2025 announcement named four initial team owners: T-Pain, Bryce Hall, Flavor Flav, and Ric Flair. It said more owners would be announced. GGL’s current About page identifies music producer and entrepreneur Clinton Sparks as founder and CEO, T-Pain as Director of Strategy, and Jeff Hoffman as chairman of the board.

How players could take part
GGL said players could submit nominations through its website for a chance to be drafted onto a celebrity-owned team. Its announcement reported more than a quarter-million entries by April 8, 2025. That is a company-reported count; the release does not independently validate the number or explain how entries were screened, how many players were selected, or the status of the nomination pipeline.
The same release said matches would take place at The Campus powered by Vū, a Las Vegas studio and arena. Its descriptions of the facility’s production and event capabilities are company statements, not independent confirmation of event attendance or league operations.

What the announcement’s audience statistics do—and don’t—show
GGL’s funding release used broad gaming-population figures to explain its opportunity. It cited more than 3 billion gamers worldwide and a 74% Gen Z interest figure for careers in gaming or digital media. T-Pain, quoted in the release as GGL’s Director of Strategy and a team owner, cited figures that 67% of people ages 5–90 game in some form, 46% of gamers are female, and the average gamer is 36.
The release does not identify the underlying studies or datasets for these statistics. They should be read as figures presented by GGL and T-Pain, not as independently verified measurements. The release also includes market-size projections and retail-spending comparisons without identifying their original sources, so those figures do not establish the size of GGL’s addressable market.

What happened after the funding announcement
GGL’s press-release index lists a July 1, 2025 official launch announcement, an August 6, 2025 announcement of its first year-round competition season, “SZN Zero,” and a February 20, 2026 partnership headline about hosting league competitions at WePlay Studios in California. Those entries establish that the company made subsequent public announcements. The index alone does not establish event performance, revenue, attendance, audience reach, or the precise operating status of every program.
What investors and readers can conclude
The raise gives GGL announced financing for a proposed entertainment-oriented gaming league, and the company has publicly described its team format, player nomination route, and venues. The release does not supply the deal terms or evidence needed to assess the financing’s eventual dilution, the league’s business performance, or whether its stated audience and application figures translated into sustained participation.
