The only Transfermarkt figure that matches £49.14m belongs to Armenia’s Premier League, not to Hull City.
Where the £49.14m figure comes from
When we searched for the amount, the closest match was a Transfermarkt table showing a combined market value of €49.14m for Armenia’s Premier League, dated 1 May 2026. That is a league total for a different competition in a different country. It is not a valuation of Hull City’s players, and it should not be read as one. If you saw £49.14m attached to Hull City in an article or social post, check whether the source gives a date, a currency and a named club. Our search did not find any of those for Hull.
What the 2026/27 Championship figures do and do not show
Transfermarkt’s 2026/27 Championship page gives a league-wide squad market value of €2.25bn. That number describes the whole division’s 24 clubs added together. It tells you how valuable the Championship is in aggregate, but it does not tell you how much any single club, including Hull City, is worth.
We could not open the club-level pages. Transfermarkt returned HTTP 403 errors when we tried to load the Championship tables directly, and the search extracts we could see did not include Hull City’s row. So we cannot give Hull’s squad value, its position in the division, or its gap to clubs above or below it.

The detailed club table we could see is also dated. It compares values as at 1 July 2026 against a later current column. Any Hull comparison has to use a single valuation date and a single currency, or the ranking will mix two different snapshots.
Why squad market value is the wrong yardstick for some questions
Readers often use “market value” to mean several different things. The table below separates the measures that are easy to confuse. None of them can be swapped for another when you compare clubs.
Rank #2
| Measure | What it counts | Who produces it | Useful for comparing Hull with other clubs? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Squad market value | Estimated combined value of the players on a club’s current squad | Estimate published by Transfermarkt, dated to a specific day | Yes, if every club is taken from the same date and currency |
| Individual player market value | Estimated value of one player | Same estimate, shown per player | Only as a building block of squad value |
| Transfer fee | Amount actually paid for a player when he moved | Agreed between two clubs and recorded only when disclosed | No, it reflects past deals, not today’s squad |
| Wage bill | What a club pays players and staff | Club accounts and reports, published on the club’s own schedule | Different question: it measures cost, not value |
| Club enterprise value | Valuation of the whole club as a business, including more than players | Buyers, investors or valuers in a sale or financing | No, it is a separate concept from squad value |
How to check Hull City’s position yourself
If you want a verified ranking, you can build one from the Transfermarkt Championship page. The steps below assume the page layout we could see in our searches; menu labels may change.
- Open Transfermarkt and search for the 2026/27 English Championship competition page.
- Find the clubs table that shows each club’s squad market value. Note the date stamp, which may appear beside the heading or at the top of the page.
- Locate the Hull City row and record its value in euros, along with the date.
- Record the value for every other club in the same table, keeping the same date and currency.
- Sort the figures from highest to lowest and count Hull’s position out of 24.
- If the figures are in euros and you want pounds, convert them all at the same exchange rate and state that rate and date in your write-up.
If Hull’s row does not appear, or the page returns an access error, do not fill the gap from another source. Come back later or use a page you can open and date.

What this means for a reader
A squad market value is an estimate of what a group of players might fetch in transfers. It can rise or fall with results, injuries, contract lengths and the wider transfer market. It is not cash held by Hull City, and it is not a figure a club can borrow against or spend. Treat it as a rough gauge of squad quality and one input among many when you judge a club’s finances.
For Hull City specifically, the figure that appears in circulation, £49.14m, cannot be confirmed as a squad value from the sources we checked. Until a dated Transfermarkt figure for Hull appears, the honest answer to “how does Hull compare” is that we do not know.
(As of early October 2026, the Championship-wide total of €2.25bn is the only verified figure we could report. The Hull City row, and therefore its rank, remains unconfirmed.)
