The official portal for application rectification is GOAPS, but its link is not an indication that GATE 2026 corrections are still available.
GATE 2026 correction window: dates and status
IIT Guwahati’s official important-dates page lists October 28, 2025, as the start of application rectification and November 10, 2025, as the revised closing date. The official notifications archive records a special reopening on November 18, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. The archive described it as: “Application correction window reopens for today only (November 18, 2025 – 10:00 am to 11:59 pm).” Both announced periods have passed.

The GATE-JAM Office’s application-fees page directs candidates to log in to the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) for rectification: https://goaps.iitg.ac.in/. Since the scheduled correction periods have ended, do not assume that signing in now will let you edit a GATE 2026 application.

Correction charges varied by field
During the correction period, the official fee schedule listed charges by modification and paper. It did not set one universal correction fee.

Application defects follow a separate process
General application rectification is different from fixing a defect identified during scrutiny. The information brochure says applications are checked against submitted data and supporting documents. If a defect is found, the candidate is notified by email or SMS and should check application status through the portal and make the required correction within the stipulated period.

The GATE 2026 FAQ says the application correction window cannot be used to change data on an issued score card. It records a separate defect-rectification period for provisional or marked-as-defect candidates, from March 10 through March 15, 2026, before score cards were released. For a discrepancy identified after a score card is issued, the FAQ directs candidates to the admitting institute, COAP, or PSU, as applicable—not to expect the application correction window to reopen.
