When were GATE 2024 results announced?
The result was announced on 16 March 2024 and made available through the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS), as recorded in the official GATE 2024 notification log. The result announcement and scorecard release were separate dates: scorecards became available on 23 March 2024, according to the GATE 2024 homepage.
Can you download a GATE 2024 scorecard now?
No. The official GATE 2024 FAQ states that scorecards were unavailable from 1 January 2025 onward. The published download periods have both ended, so a page claiming to offer an active official GATE 2024 scorecard download link is out of date.

These dates and fees are from the official GATE 2024 FAQ and GATE 2024 Information Brochure. The FAQ also says no hard-copy scorecard was issued; candidates needed to save the electronic version during the portal’s download window. It does not describe a current recovery or replacement process.

How the scorecard download worked in 2024
For historical reference, candidates accessed the scorecard by logging in to the GATE application portal. The download was free from 23 March through 31 May 2024. A paid extension ran from 1 June through 31 December 2024 at ₹500 per test paper. Neither period remains open.
What did a GATE 2024 result mean?
To interpret a result, compare the marks for the candidate’s specific test paper with the qualifying cutoff for the relevant category. Cutoffs vary by paper and category; a cutoff for one paper should not be treated as an overall GATE threshold. The official GATE 2024 cutoff table, for example, lists Computer Science and Information Technology cutoffs of 27.6 for General, 24.8 for OBC-NCL/EWS, and 18.4 for SC/ST/PwD candidates. Those figures apply to that paper, not to GATE as a whole.

Eligibility to download a scorecard was limited to candidates whose marks met or exceeded the SC/ST/PwD qualifying marks for that paper, according to the official FAQ. The GATE 2024 homepage describes score validity as three years from the announcement of results; the FAQ separately describes scorecard validity as three years from its release. Those are the official descriptions and refer to different starting events.

A qualifying score may support an application for admission or recruitment where the institution or employer accepts it. GATE qualification alone does not guarantee admission, a scholarship, or employment; the official GATE page states this explicitly. Check the current requirements of the specific institution or employer before relying on a GATE score for an application.
