Yes—the “do nothing” Galaxy S25 Ultra deal was real, but it was a dated Samsung U.S. promotion, not a price you can assume is still available. Reported on November 17, 2025, it offered the unlocked 512GB model for about $849 before tax with no trade-in. As of August 16, 2026, Samsung’s current offer page does not verify that same no-trade-in price.
What the $570-off deal actually included
| Detail | Historical offer |
|---|---|
| Phone | Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra |
| Storage | 512GB |
| Reported price | About $849 before tax |
| Trade-in required | No |
| Immediate discount | $400 |
| Advertised storage-upgrade value | $170 |
| Total advertised savings | $570 |
| Reported date | November 17, 2025 |
Droid Life’s November 17, 2025 report described a Samsung direct-sale promotion for a new, unlocked 512GB Galaxy S25 Ultra. “Do nothing” meant buyers did not have to send Samsung an old phone to receive the reported $849 price. It was not free: the buyer still paid the purchase price, applicable sales tax, and any checkout charges.
How Samsung’s $570 savings figure was calculated
The headline savings combined two different benefits, not a single $570 coupon. The promotion paired a $400 immediate discount with a 512GB configuration priced at the 256GB model’s price; the storage difference was counted as $170 in promotional value. That produced $570 in advertised total savings and a reported price of about $849. The 512GB model’s listed price was $1,419.99, and the 256GB model’s was $1,299.99 in Samsung’s March 2026 U.S. MSRP sheet; those later MSRP figures provide context, not proof of the exact November checkout calculation.
The offer applied to the 512GB phone, not an after-purchase storage upgrade to a phone someone already owned. The original report also mentioned a separate potential trade-in offer of up to $700; that scenario was not the no-trade-in $849 deal.

- Stunning 6.9″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with adaptive 1–120 Hz refresh rate, ultra‑bright up to ~2600 nits, HDR support, “Vision Booster,” and adaptive color tone — giving vivid colours, great outdoor visibility, and super‑smooth scrolling.
- Powerful internals: it runs on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy (3 nm) chip, with 12 GB (or in some markets up to 16 GB) RAM and up to 1 TB UFS 4.0 storage — offering significantly improved CPU/GPU/NPU performance, especially for AI tasks, gaming, and heavy multitasking.
- Advanced quad‑camera system: 200 MP wide main sensor, plus a 50 MP ultrawide, a 50 MP periscope telephoto (5× optical zoom), and a 10 MP telephoto (3× optical zoom) — giving flexibility from ultra‑wide through detailed telephoto shots, and strong performance in varied lighting.
- 5,000 mAh battery with 45 W fast wired charging, wireless charging (Qi2) and reverse wireless charging — balancing long battery life with flexible charging options.
- Durable, premium build: Titanium‑frame body, protected by Corning Gorilla Armor 2 glass, with IP68 dust/water resistance, ultrasonic in‑display fingerprint sensor, modern connectivity (5G, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth, UWB, USB‑C), and long‑term software support (Android 15 / One UI 7, promised 7 major OS/security updates).
Is the $849 no-trade-in price available now?
It is not verified as a live offer. Samsung’s current U.S. phone offers page instead advertises S25 Ultra savings of up to $520 or more with eligible trade-ins. Samsung’s March 2026 MSRP sheet marks the S25 Ultra 256GB and 512GB models “EOL,” meaning end of life in that price document. That signals phase-out, but does not establish that all retailers have stopped selling the phone.
Samsung can change or discontinue promotions, and remaining stock may vary by color, seller, and location. Treat $849 as a historical reference price—not a standing entitlement or a confirmed current checkout price. Samsung’s March 2026 MSRP sheet lists the S26 at $799.99 for 128GB and $899.99 for 256GB, and the S26 Ultra at $1,299.99 for 256GB and $1,499.99 for 512GB. Those are MSRP references, not verified street prices or current sale prices.

How to verify a current Samsung price without a trade-in
- Open Samsung’s U.S. phone offers page and select the Galaxy S25 Ultra if it is listed.
- Choose the 512GB capacity and check that the listing identifies the seller and the unlocked model you intend to buy. Availability and model details can change.
- At the trade-in prompt, select “No trade-in.” Check whether an instant discount or storage promotion still appears without a device being submitted.
- Review the subtotal before payment. Confirm the phone price, any delivery charge, stock and color, and the applicable offer terms or expiration date. Save a copy of the terms if the promotion is time-limited.
- Check the final checkout total for sales tax and other charges before placing the order; the reported $849 was a pre-tax promotional price.
If the discount appears only after you select a trade-in, or only through a carrier offer, it is not the historical no-trade-in deal. The Samsung S25 Ultra product page is available here, but its current inventory and price should be confirmed in checkout.

No trade-in, trade-in, or carrier offer?
| Route | What may appeal | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| No trade-in | Keep your current phone and avoid condition reviews, shipping deadlines, and trade-in credits. | Higher upfront cost may apply; verify the price with “No trade-in” selected. |
| Samsung trade-in | An eligible device may lower the amount due. | “Up to” is not guaranteed: credit depends on the device and eligibility review, and Samsung may adjust or charge back credit if terms are not met. |
| Carrier promotion | May advertise a larger subsidy. | Check plan or new-line requirements, installment obligations, bill-credit timing, and any carrier lock-in; these are not equivalent to an upfront no-trade-in discount. |
Samsung says trade-in eligibility and credit amounts can change. A submitted device generally must power on, hold a charge, have a functioning display, meet damage rules, be clear of blacklists, be reset, and have software locks disabled. Samsung says the trade-in must be shipped within 15 days of receiving the new phone or it can charge back the applied credit; it may also adjust credit after inspection. Review the current terms on Samsung’s offers page.
Do not assume a trade-in clears an existing phone balance. Samsung’s trade-in FAQ says installment-plan devices must be paid off before trade-in, and leased devices are generally ineligible unless purchased from the carrier first. These obligations are separate from the S25 Ultra purchase.

Should you buy an S25 Ultra in 2026?
The right price depends on whether the S25 Ultra’s specific features and 512GB capacity matter more to you than buying the newest generation. Samsung’s published S26 MSRPs show that the S26 starts below the S25 Ultra’s historical 512GB price, while the S26 Ultra starts at a substantially higher MSRP; actual current sale prices may differ. Compare live checkout prices and storage tiers rather than MSRP alone.
- Consider it if you want the S25 Ultra’s large display, S Pen, camera setup, and 512GB storage, and you find a genuine unlocked offer well below its listed price.
- Compare carefully if an S26 or S26 Ultra is near the S25 Ultra’s live price, if you do not need 512GB, or if you value the newest generation more than a clearance discount.
- Pause before buying if the S25 Ultra is near its listed MSRP: its EOL designation makes stock and color selection worth checking, and you should verify who is selling it, warranty coverage, and the return policy.
The historical $849 offer was notable because a buyer could get 512GB without trading in a phone. Whether an S25 Ultra is a good purchase now depends on the live price and the buyer’s priorities, not on the old $570 headline alone.
