Frontier Airlines said the workers involved in a viral dispute at Raleigh-Durham International Airport were “no longer associated with the Frontier account.” The airline described them as employees of a third-party contractor; its statement does not confirm that Frontier directly employed or fired them.
What happened at the RDU counter?
In a report published May 8, 2025, ABC11 said a passenger traveling from Raleigh-Durham to Boston arrived at the Frontier counter about 50 minutes before his flight. The report attributed the dispute to a $25 fee for checking in with an agent after a one-hour cutoff. The passenger reportedly agreed to pay, but an employee still refused to check him in. Those details describe the incident as reported in 2025, not a confirmation of Frontier’s current check-in policy or fee.
What did Frontier say about the workers?
Frontier told ABC11 that it knew about the incident and had contacted the passenger. A representative said: “The employees, who work for a third-party contractor, are no longer associated with the Frontier account.”

That statement confirms the workers’ removal from Frontier’s account, but it does not establish that Frontier terminated their employment. The report does not identify the contractor or say whether the workers remained employed by that company.
