Frontier’s bag prices vary by itinerary and when you buy, so check the Bag Price Checker for your specific trip rather than relying on a flat fee.
Which bags are included on a Frontier ticket?
Frontier includes one personal item per passenger, per direction. Carry-ons and checked bags can be purchased individually or included in a bundle. Whether a bundle is worthwhile depends on its total price for your itinerary and whether you will use the other included benefits.

Personal item
The personal item must measure no more than 18 × 14 × 8 inches, including handles, wheels, and straps; it may weigh up to 35 pounds and must fit under the seat. Frontier may charge for an item that exceeds the permitted dimensions. These limits are from Frontier’s Bag Options page, last modified February 27, 2026.
Carry-on
A carry-on may measure up to 24 × 16 × 10 inches, including handles, wheels, and straps, and weigh up to 35 pounds. It goes in the overhead bin. If overhead space is unavailable, Frontier says it may gate-check the carry-on at no additional cost. Frontier lists some mobility and assistive devices as exempt from carry-on charges.

Checked bag
The standard checked-bag limit is 62 linear inches and 40 pounds. Linear inches means the length, width, and depth added together; include handles, wheels, and straps in the measurements. Some bundles or elite statuses allow a higher weight limit. Frontier advises against packing medication, cash, electronics, car keys, important documents, or valuables in checked baggage.
How much does Frontier charge for bags?
Frontier does not publish one standard carry-on or checked-bag price for every traveler. The amount varies by travel date and purchase timing. Use the official Bag Price Checker to see the price for your itinerary. Frontier says buying bags during booking or before the flight can save money and that airport prices are higher; it does not provide a single saving amount that applies to all trips.

- Compare the checkout options: look at separate bag prices and any available bundle total, including which passengers and directions are covered.
- Add bags before the deadline: use FlyFrontier.com or the FlyFrontier app; Frontier says checked bags must be purchased at least 60 minutes before departure.

What to check before packing
- Confirm whether your ticket or bundle already includes the carry-on or checked bags you plan to bring.
- Measure the personal item, carry-on, and checked bag against their separate limits; do not assume that a bag that fits one category qualifies for another.
- Check the weight of each bag. The standard checked-bag limit is 40 pounds, while the published overweight charges rise above that limit.
- Price bags for your exact itinerary before purchase. Airport prices are higher according to Frontier, and the live checker is the relevant source for trip-specific pricing.
