Frey Ranch’s Harvester Series: 10th Anniversary Edition, also called “First Harvest,” is a 2025 limited-release American whiskey made from selected barrels and bottled at 121.14 proof. Frey Ranch announced 500 numbered bottles at a suggested retail price of $249.99, but those launch terms do not establish that the bottle is still available at that price.
What is Frey Ranch First Harvest?
First Harvest is the inaugural release in Frey Ranch’s Harvester Series, announced on April 30, 2025, to mark a decade of distilling. It is distinct from later Harvester releases and from Frey Ranch’s separate 2026 10-Year-Old Bourbon. Frey Ranch’s launch announcement describes it as an American whiskey blended from selected single barrels by co-founders Colby and Ashley Frey, master blender Nancy Fraley, and master distiller Russell Wedlake. The team says it tasted more than 100 barrels and 14 mash bills while selecting the blend.

The release reflects the farm-to-bottle identity Frey Ranch emphasizes. Co-founder Colby Frey described the series as drawing on more than 170 years of growing grain on the family’s Northern Nevada farms. Fraley characterized the first expression as a high-proof whiskey intended to put the grains at the center.
What is in the blend, and how strong is it?
Frey Ranch says the whiskey features five grains grown on its farm: non-GMO dent corn, winter wheat, winter rye, barley, and oat. The announced composition is layered rather than a simple single-grain recipe:

- 10.5% component described as a blend of 66.6% corn, 10% wheat, 12% malted barley, and 11.4% oat

Those percentages describe the component blends as the producer announced them; they should not be flattened into an unqualified single-grain mash bill. Frey Ranch states the whiskey is 121.14 proof and includes whiskey aged up to seven and a half years. “Up to” is not a uniform age statement for every whiskey in the blend.
What does it taste like?
Frey Ranch’s launch announcement describes a nose of butterscotch, oatmeal-raisin cookie, and cinnamon graham cracker. Its stated palate starts softly with confectioner’s sugar, then moves to custard and marshmallow; the finish is described as nutty milk chocolate and sweet, buttery Nevada pinyon pine nut. These are the producer’s tasting notes, not an independent tasting assessment.

How limited was the release, and what did it cost?
Frey Ranch announced 500 numbered bottles and a suggested retail price of $249.99 in 2025. The original schedule was a tasting-room sale beginning April 26, an online presale from April 30 through May 6, and distribution to Nevada retail locations shortly afterward. These are historical release details, not evidence of current stock or today’s market value.
The commemorative packaging includes a vintage tractor topper made from 100% recycled metal in place of the usual stopper, plus an outer package designed to resemble a grain silo. The farm-themed presentation ties the bottle to the Frey family’s agricultural history.

The launch announcement also reported a Gold Medal and 93 points at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. That recognition is reported by Frey Ranch; the award record is not independently verified here.

Current availability is not established by the launch announcement. Frey Ranch’s official shop page currently promotes the Tractor Tailgate Club at $999 per year, with four quarterly shipments and a guaranteed Harvester release. The page identifies the next cycle as Harvester 3.0, with shipping starting in November, but does not say that the 2025 10th Anniversary bottle is included or available. Membership therefore should not be treated as a way to obtain First Harvest.

Frey Ranch has described its tasting room as offering direct sales, tours, and tastings, but the hours and anniversary allocation in the launch announcement were published in 2025. Check the distillery’s current information before planning a visit, and confirm any listing’s exact release name before buying: later Harvester bottles are not the 10th Anniversary Edition.
