Some former Freedom Mobile customers were reportedly offered 60GB of data for $29 a month in a targeted win-back promotion. The May 2025 offer was described as a bring-your-own-device (BYOD) plan for use in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico—not a standard plan confirmed as available to every former customer. A similar offer was reported in January 2026, but that does not establish that it is available now.
What the reported $29 offer included
MobileSyrup reported on May 8, 2025, that some former customers received an offer for 60GB a month across Canada, the United States and Mexico for $29 per month. The report was based on a screenshot shared on RedFlagDeals, and described the offer as intended for former customers who already owned their phones. Read MobileSyrup’s May 2025 report.
The reported terms also included a waived connection fee and a one-time 5GB Roam Beyond data allotment. Customers who also subscribed to Freedom Internet were reportedly offered a $25 monthly price. These were terms attributed to the targeted offer screenshot, not confirmed terms of a generally available plan.
Was the offer repeated?
MobileSyrup reported a similar $29-per-month, 60GB Canada-U.S.-Mexico BYOD offer on January 23, 2026. That report, based on a screenshot posted to Reddit, also described a one-time 5GB Roam Beyond allotment and a waived $45 connection fee. The later report shows that similar terms were offered again; it does not show that the May 2025 promotion remained open or that every former customer qualified. PlanHub also covered the January 2026 offer. It said claims that the $29 price would remain unchanged after 24 months were not officially confirmed by Freedom. Do not treat a 24-month price guarantee as established unless it appears in the written offer for your account. Read PlanHub’s January 2026 report.

- Price and duration: Check whether $29 is the ongoing monthly price, whether a bundle is needed for a lower price, and whether the offer states a promotional period or a price guarantee. Review taxes and any other charges separately.
- Data geography and roaming: Confirm where the 60GB can be used and whether the 5GB Roam Beyond allowance is one-time or recurring. The reports describe it as one-time.
- Fees: Verify whether the connection fee is waived on your account and whether any other charges apply.
For a useful comparison with your current plan or another offer, compare the full monthly cost, data allowance and covered countries, recurring versus one-time roaming data, eligibility requirements, connection fees and the duration of any price guarantee. The reported terms alone do not establish which plan is best for every customer.

Freedom Mobile’s current general plan terms describe plan-dependent full-speed data allowances from 30GB to 100GB, 5G access on Freedom’s network where available, and speeds up to 100 Mbps on partner networks. Those general terms do not confirm the availability, eligibility or price guarantee of a particular win-back email. The plan’s applicable terms and Fair Usage Policy also matter.
