Free Shipping Day is associated with mid-December online shopping offers. A calendar listing gives the 2026 date as Monday, December 14, but that does not confirm a current organizer or mean any particular store will participate. Check each retailer’s live terms and checkout details before counting on free shipping—or on delivery by Christmas.
When is Free Shipping Day in 2026?
Timeanddate lists Free Shipping Day on Monday, December 14, 2026, and describes it as a day when participating online stores offer free shipping: Timeanddate’s Free Shipping Day listing. The date is a calendar listing, not confirmation of a current event organizer or participating-store roster.
What is Free Shipping Day?
Free Shipping Day is a mid-December retail observance associated with online stores waiving shipping charges on eligible orders. Timeanddate attributes its creation in 2008 to Luke and Maisie Knowles. That historical account is secondary; no active organizer source or verified 2026 participant list is established here.
How to evaluate a store’s free-shipping offer
“Free shipping” does not necessarily mean every order, item, shipping speed, and destination qualifies. Read the offer terms and verify the final charge and delivery estimate at checkout.

Retailer terms can differ
For example, REI says members receive free standard shipping in the United States with no minimum, while other customers need a $100 order; exclusions apply, and estimated arrival dates are not guaranteed. Vera Bradley’s terms describe free economy ground shipping on qualifying in-stock orders of $99 or more through December 31, 2026, subject to terms and exclusions. These are examples of store-specific policies, not confirmed Free Shipping Day participants. Check the retailers’ current terms: REI shipping information and Vera Bradley shipping and returns.
