Lucid rejected his claims. The federal case was later stayed while the parties pursued arbitration; reports through July 2026 did not establish an arbitration result or settlement.
Why Eric Bach says he sued Lucid
Bach filed Bach v. Lucid Group Inc., Case No. 3:25-cv-10499, on December 8, 2025, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. His complaint pleads discrimination and retaliation under 42 U.S.C. § 1981, as well as wrongful termination in violation of public policy. It requests damages and a jury trial. Those are claims in a complaint, not findings that Lucid broke the law. Read the complaint.
According to Bach’s complaint, he joined Lucid in 2015 and later became senior vice president of product and chief engineer, with responsibility for hardware engineering, product management and corporate planning. He alleges that Lucid began a workplace-culture investigation in late 2024 and reduced his responsibilities in early 2025, including removing his oversight of powertrain work.
Bach further alleges that HR executive Rachel Rivera referred to him as a “German Nazi,” that Lucid confirmed she had made the remark, and that he complained about it. He says he learned of the remark in mid-2025, encouraged a colleague to report it, and separately raised an internal complaint about another vice president. TechCrunch’s account of the complaint reports those allegations; they have not been established by a court. TechCrunch’s report.

The complaint says Bach’s counsel protested discrimination and retaliation on October 24, 2025, after an alleged effort to force him to resign on October 22. Bach says Lucid fired him on November 5. TechCrunch reported that Lucid’s public announcement that day described him as having “departed.”
Lucid’s response
Lucid told TechCrunch: “In our opinion, Mr. Bach’s legal claims are absurd. We are confident that the facts revealed through the course of litigation will establish the legitimate issues leading to Mr. Bach’s termination.” That is the company’s stated position; it is not a judicial finding about why Bach’s employment ended.

The complaint sets out Bach’s account of events and the legal claims he wants adjudicated. Lucid disputes those claims and says it expects the facts to show legitimate reasons for his termination. The reported order sending the dispute to arbitration changes the forum for the proceedings; it does not decide the merits of Bach’s allegations.
