The firm’s reported focus was sports technology, health and wellness, and—according to some launch coverage—digital media. Its reported $100 million fund size was a goal, not a confirmed amount raised.
Who launched Tru Skye Ventures?
Tru Skye Ventures was reported as a partnership between Sandiford-Artest and Stokols. Sandiford-Artest is the former NBA player who played for the Los Angeles Lakers under the name Metta World Peace. Stokols was described at the time of the launch as the former CEO of Boost Mobile.

Launch coverage described Tru Skye as targeting sports technology and health and wellness. AfroTech also listed digital media among the planned focus areas. Was Tru Skye raising $100 million?
The $100 million figure was a stated target, not evidence that the firm raised or closed a fund of that size. In a 2025 interview with NBRPA Legends magazine, Sandiford-Artest described it as a goal: “The goal for Tru Skye is to be a $100-million fund.” He also said that he and Stokols had invested together through small special-purpose vehicles and wanted to develop that activity into a business model and launch the fund. What is known about the firm’s status now?
The December 2024 reports describe the launch and its intended focus; Sandiford-Artest’s 2025 interview restates the fund goal. These sources do not establish how much Tru Skye ultimately raised, its current investment activity, or a complete current portfolio. The launch announcement should therefore be read as a report of a planned venture firm and fundraising target, not confirmation of a completed $100 million fund.
