Its own promotional language raises a more immediate concern: it describes tactics aimed at influencing another person’s trust, identity, emotions and relationship choices. This review separates those claims from what can actually be confirmed and considers the consent and financial questions a prospective buyer should weigh.
What is Forbidden Patterns?
Forbidden Patterns is presented as a digital ebook by Jack Ellis. The seller describes it as a collection of patterns intended to influence how another person feels or perceives a relationship. A 2012 review published by Your Ideal Choice on PRLog also describes the ebook as dating and seduction advice, mentioning techniques called “2 minute trust” and “Fantasy installation.” The 2012 PRLog review is historical commentary, not a scientific evaluation.
The seller lists names including “Two Minute Trust,” “Fantasy Installation,” “Boyfriend Annihilation” and “The Door,” and claims they can affect trust, emotions or relationship perceptions. Those are marketing claims; the pages provide no credible named study or attributable efficacy statistic to show that the methods reliably produce those effects. The seller’s page should therefore be read as promotional material, not proof.
Are the claims credible?
There is not enough evidence in the available sources to conclude that the ebook’s techniques work as advertised. The seller page provides claims and a testimonial, but neither establishes effectiveness. It quotes David Barron, identified there as a “Persuasion Expert”: “Jack Ellis has some balls! A few years ago I dabbled with asking the question of how NLP can be used in a less than helpful way.” This is a testimonial published by the seller, not independent confirmation or research evidence.
#1 Best Overall
That limitation cuts both ways: the available sources also do not prove the ebook is a scam. The 2012 PRLog review raises concerns about the advice, but it is an old review rather than a documented investigation of fraud, product delivery or customer outcomes. A fair conclusion is that the dramatic claims are unverified—not that they have been disproved, or that fraud has been established.
Why the framing raises ethical concerns
The seller’s own descriptions include language about “enslave,” changing a woman’s identity, and inducing fear or dependence. Those concepts frame dating as a way to control another person rather than build mutual trust. The PRLog reviewer likewise characterizes the tactics as potentially harmful and underhanded; that is the reviewer’s judgment, not an independent assessment of their effects.

- Forbidden Lands - Book of Beasts, A bestiary you can play!
- This hardback book will come with faux leather covers and gold foil stamping.
- It presents at new monsters in great detail. Each beast comes ready to play with tailored random encounters, presenting the Gamemaster with a handy set of mini-adventures to go.
- This is an expansion for the multiple-award winning tabletop roleplaying game Forbidden Lands. Forbidden Lands is a retro take on classic fantasy roleplaying.
Regardless of whether such tactics are effective, advice that encourages someone to undermine another person’s judgment or manufacture dependence conflicts with consent and respectful communication. A healthier standard is straightforward: communicate honestly, accept a clear “no,” and do not use fear, deception or pressure to steer someone’s choices.
Can you still buy it, and what are the terms?
The seller page contains legacy offer language, including a bonus called “Cult Control,” an order offer and a 60-day money-back promise. Because the page includes outdated references, those details do not verify current availability, price, refund conditions or whether the offer is still operating. The available sources also do not establish a current authorized affiliate program or its terms. Check the seller’s current checkout and written refund policy before paying; if those cannot be verified, treat the offer as unresolved rather than relying on old page copy.
The product is described as an ebook. The available sources do not establish a verified physical listing for it. A third-party ClickBank marketplace page has described an affiliate listing, but that alone does not confirm the program is active, authorized or currently accepting affiliates. ClickBank’s marketplace information is not a substitute for confirmation from the seller about present terms.

Readers seeking a different approach can consider The Consent Guidebook, whose purchase page lists Amazon paperback and Kindle formats. It is an adjacent consent-centered resource, not a direct comparison, test or rebuttal of Forbidden Patterns. Check the listing for your region and current format availability. The Consent Guidebook purchase page describes that separate resource.

What to consider before spending money
- Separate promises from evidence. The seller’s descriptions and testimonial do not demonstrate that the techniques work.
- Read current terms before paying. Do not assume a price, refund window, bonus or product availability from legacy page language.
- Consider the approach, not just the promised outcome. Advice built around fear, dependence or control is a poor fit for relationships based on consent.
- Do not treat affiliate promotion as endorsement. A surfaced marketplace listing does not verify present affiliate status or terms.
