Félix Pago announced a $15.5 million Series A in May 2024 to expand its presence in Latin America and the United States. The remittance service uses WhatsApp as the sender interface, aiming to make transfers home easier for people already using the messaging app. The financing is a 2024 announcement, not a new 2026 funding round.
What Félix Pago does
Félix says U.S. senders can start a money transfer in a WhatsApp chat without downloading a separate Félix app. The sender provides the amount and beneficiary details, chooses a payment method, and reviews the transfer terms before confirming. Félix says the flow displays the fee, exchange rate, and amount the recipient will receive before the sender commits; those are company descriptions, not independently tested performance.

Félix CEO Manuel Godoy explained the product rationale to TechCrunch: “I like to say that WhatsApp is the operating system of the region, so it makes sense that we build something on WhatsApp to make it super easy.” The quote reflects the company’s strategy, not evidence that every prospective user prefers WhatsApp.
Where transfers can go and how recipients can collect
Félix’s current help center lists ten destinations: Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Peru. Its destination page says bank deposits are available in each listed country and cash pickup in most. Card payments and cash payments at partner stores are also described in the help materials. Exact recipient and payment options depend on the transfer and are shown in Félix’s flow; availability can change.

Félix’s service page identifies Félix Technologies as an authorized agent of UniTeller, Intermex, and Spectrum Global Payment Solutions, Inc., and includes money-transmission licensing disclosures. These are the company’s statements; the cited materials do not independently establish the scope of the relationships or licensing in each state.
What the $15.5 million Series A was intended to fund
TechCrunch reported on May 28, 2024 that Félix Pago raised $15.5 million in a Series A, with the stated aim of growing its presence in Latin America and the United States. The same report cited $155 billion in remittances sent from U.S. workers to Latin America in 2023. TechCrunch did not identify the original statistical publisher for that figure in the reviewed report, so it is best understood as a market estimate reported by TechCrunch, rather than independently verified here.

Félix’s current English homepage also claims that more than 300,000 Latino migrants use its service to send money home. The page does not give a visible date for that figure, so it should not be treated as a dated adoption count.

Transfer cost depends on the destination and delivery method, according to Félix. Before confirming a transfer, compare the amount the recipient will actually receive, not just the stated fee. The exchange rate and any fees together determine the effective cost. Also check whether the recipient’s preferred payout method is available for that destination and whether the payment option works for you.
