Pakistan’s Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) says its ePayment 2.0 payment-creation system is now available within the IRIS 2.0 portal. Taxpayers can generate a Payment Slip ID (PSID), pay through a listed bank channel, and receive a Computerized Payment Receipt (CPR), according to FBR. The service is presented as covering Income Tax, Sales Tax, Federal Excise Duty, and Withholding Taxes.
What ePayment 2.0 changes
FBR describes ePayment 2.0 as a payment-creation system integrated into IRIS 2.0. The earlier ePayment system was separate from IRIS 2.0; the new system brings payment creation into the portal. FBR says the system was inaugurated by Ms. Aisha Farooq, Director General (IT&DT), at PRAL Headquarters in Islamabad. The announcement does not provide a publication date.
Which taxes and taxpayers FBR says it covers
The announcement names four tax categories:
- Income Tax
- Sales Tax
- Federal Excise Duty
- Withholding Taxes
FBR says both registered and unregistered taxpayers can generate a PSID. That stated eligibility does not establish that every tax obligation or taxpayer circumstance is supported; check the official portal for the relevant payment option.

How the announced payment flow works
- Generate a PSID: Create a Payment Slip ID in ePayment 2.0 within IRIS 2.0 for the applicable tax payment.
- Pay using a listed ADC channel: FBR names internet banking, ATMs, and mobile banking as payment channels.
- Keep the CPR: FBR says a Computerized Payment Receipt is issued after payment and sent by email and SMS. It also says the receipt can be retrieved in IRIS 2.0.
FBR additionally describes a PSID search feature for finding and confirming payment records. Its announcement does not provide detailed screen-by-screen instructions, so use the official FBR taxpayer facilitation portal rather than an unofficial payment page to access the service.
What is—and is not—established about easier payments
Moving payment creation into IRIS 2.0 may make the process more convenient for taxpayers who already use the portal. That is the direction of FBR’s announcement, not an independently measured result. The available official information gives no fee schedule, processing-time guarantee, adoption figure, or quantified change in errors, delays, or efficiency; it also does not report an independent evaluation.
