The title-matched listing describes a 175-page document labeled “FAC1502 2014,” with past papers from May 2009 through November 2013, suggested solutions and study notes. It is a third-party listing, not a verified official UNISA resource. Its current availability, authorization and fit with present FAC1502 requirements have not been established.

What the FAC1502 exam pack listing says it contains

The Scribd listing identifies the document as “FAC1502 Exam Pack with Solutions,” labels it “FAC1502 2014,” and names Trinity Tutorials. It says the 175-page document includes past examination papers from May 2009 to November 2013, together with suggested solutions and notes. Those are claims shown on the listing; they do not independently verify the contents or quality of every answer. View the Scribd listing.

The page also says the material is not sponsored or endorsed by a university. The available information therefore does not establish that UNISA authored, approved or currently distributes this pack.

How to judge whether it is useful for your exam preparation

The papers named in the listing date from 2009–2013, and the document is labeled 2014. That history makes it a potentially useful source of older practice questions, but does not show whether its questions or solutions match current module outcomes, assessment formats, accounting standards or tax rules. The pack’s current authorization, sale status and syllabus alignment remain unverified.

Before relying on it as a main study guide, compare it with your current official module materials. When assessing this or another resource, check:

  • Provenance: Is it a current official course resource or independently produced material?
  • Coverage: Which years and assessment formats are represented, and how closely do they match your current course requirements?
  • Answer quality: Do worked solutions explain why entries are made, or only show the final debit and credit?
  • Access: Is the document currently available to you, and in what format?

The sources available here do not establish a current official replacement for this particular pack.

Where the pack’s subject fits in FAC1502

FAC1502 learning materials connect transaction recording through double-entry to general ledgers, trial balances and annual financial statements. A trial balance brings ledger balances together; those balances then inform preparation of financial statements. These are course-level topics, not a verified contents list for the specific Trinity Tutorials pack. Tabaldi Education’s FAC1502 Study Unit 4 describes this sequence and provides learning resources.

Debits, credits and ledger accounts

Double-entry records each transaction through debit and credit postings to ledger accounts. The important study skill is to understand how a transaction affects the relevant accounts and how ledger balances are carried into the trial balance, rather than to memorize a set of entries without understanding their purpose.

Closing entries and profit or loss

The FAC1502 study guide illustrates closing expenditure accounts—including stationery, wages, water and electricity, and credit losses—to the profit or loss account. It also shows income accounts, such as rent income, being debited as profit or loss is credited. In the guide’s examples, profit is then transferred to capital and drawings are closed against capital. These are examples of the study guide’s accounting process, not evidence that every one of these topics appears in the exam pack. See the FAC1502 study guide.

The guide includes a worked exercise that maintains an allowance for credit losses at 4% of outstanding debtors. Treat that as the guide’s example only; it is not a universal accounting rule or a claim about what the pack contains.

How to use older questions without mistaking them for a current syllabus

  1. Start with current module materials. Use them to identify the outcomes, terminology and assessment expectations you need to meet.
  2. Choose a question from the pack by topic. For example, use a ledger or trial-balance question to practise the link between double-entry postings and summarized balances.
  3. Attempt the work before reading the suggested solution. Record your reasoning as well as the entries so you can identify whether an error came from transaction analysis, posting or balancing.
  4. Check the method against current course guidance. If terminology, a required format or an accounting treatment differs, follow the current official materials and seek clarification from your course support rather than assuming the older answer governs.
  5. Use the pack as supplementary practice. Its listing dates the papers to 2009–2013; the listing alone cannot establish present-day alignment.
