UEFA confirmed currywurst was available at stadiums, but the available sources do not establish its price or a complete menu and price list for all ten host cities.
What did beer cost at Euro 2024?
NOS reported that a half-litre beer at the Munich stadium during the tournament cost €7, with a €3 deposit; the report said the usual price was €5.50. The €3 was an additional amount paid at purchase. It may have been recoverable through the venue’s return process, but the report did not describe that process.
This is a Munich example from the 14 June–14 July 2024 tournament, not an official UEFA price or a reliable estimate for every stadium. The available reporting does not support a complete venue-by-venue comparison of beer, soft drinks, or other concessions.
What food was available?
Currywurst
UEFA confirmed currywurst was available at stadiums during Euro 2024. It is a pork sausage served with curry sauce. The Associated Press reported that the dish’s origins are contested and that it has a particular place in Berlin food culture. Neither source establishes a single tournament menu or currywurst price, so availability should not be mistaken for a uniform offering across venues.

Linda Konnopke, who helps run her family’s Berlin fast-food business, told the Associated Press on 12 June 2024: “Our city is all about currywurst, and I think our city can’t live without currywurst. Whoever comes to Berlin has to try currywurst to know what the city’s about.”
What the price evidence does—and does not—show
The cited reporting confirms a Munich beer price and stadium availability of currywurst. It does not establish currywurst’s event price, the price of other food or drinks, or a complete list of concessions by stadium. A reliable comparison would need to identify the host city and venue, item and serving size, event date, whether the quoted amount includes a deposit, and whether the figure is an observed price or an official rule.

Could fans bring food or drinks into a stadium?
UEFA’s stadium rules prohibited bringing food or liquids into the stadium, including fruit. The stated exception was food required for medical reasons; the Stadium Authority had to be notified in advance. Ordinary liquids were therefore not permitted under the stated rules. Fans should not assume a refillable water bottle could be brought inside.
How matchday transport worked
Local and regional public transport
Match-ticket holders were entitled to a 36-hour public transport pass in and around each of the ten host cities. It was valid from 06:00 on matchday until 18:00 the following day. This covered local and regional travel, rather than serving as a long-distance rail ticket.

Separate long-distance rail offer
For the tournament, Deutsche Bahn offered a special one-way second-class fare of €29.90 and a one-way first-class fare of €39.90, including a seat reservation. The offer required a EURO 2024 Fan Pass and applied to long-distance services such as IC, ICE, and EC. It was separate from the local and regional pass and was a historical tournament offer, not a current fare.
How 2024 prices compare with Germany’s inflation figures
Destatis reported annual-average changes from 2023 to 2024 in a 2025 release: overall consumer prices rose 2.2%, food prices 1.4%, non-alcoholic beverage prices 6.4%, and restaurant, café, and similar catering-service prices 6.8%. These national measures describe broad price changes; they do not measure Euro stadium concessions or explain a particular vendor’s prices.

The averages also conceal differences between categories: Destatis reported that vegetables fell 1.5% and dairy products fell 2.1% over the same annual-average comparison. These figures offer national context, not a way to calculate what a fan should have paid at a stadium.

A DFB-hosted Euro 2024 impact presentation, citing Nielsen Sports, reported that ticket holders spent slightly over €711 million in total to attend the tournament, including €144.6 million on food and beverages outside stadiums. These are aggregate spending figures, not a per-person budget, average meal cost, or stadium-concession total.
