Eterneva announced a $10 million Series A on July 26, 2021, led by Tiger Management, with Mark Cuban among several co-investors. The funding is historical news—not a new raise. Eterneva’s current service turns carbon it says it extracts from submitted ashes or hair into a memorial diamond; the company currently lists a 10–12-month timeline and prices ranging from $3,499 to $75,000.
What happened with Eterneva’s $10 million raise?
On July 26, 2021, Eterneva announced that it had closed an oversubscribed $10 million Series A. Tiger Management led the round. The company named Goodwater Capital, Capstar Ventures, NextCoast Ventures, Mark Cuban and others as co-investors in its announcement.
The announcement is the basis for the “Mark Cuban-backed” description: he was one of the named co-investors, not the lead investor. Eterneva’s About page says it appeared on Shark Tank in October 2019 and that its founders built the company after a founder’s mentor died. The company also says it has invested more than $15 million in infrastructure and research and development for its Kerrville, Texas, facility; that figure is a company claim, not an independently audited investment total.
How does Eterneva say it makes a memorial diamond?
Eterneva describes its service as using carbon extracted from a customer’s submitted ashes or hair to grow a diamond. Its welcome-kit page says the customer sends roughly half a cup of material. The company describes transferring it to a graphite crucible, purifying the carbon, and growing a diamond in high-pressure, high-temperature conditions. It says the finished stone is inspected for inclusions and cut into the requested shape. Customers can choose size and color, and Eterneva says it can help with selecting a setting near the end of the process.

These are Eterneva’s descriptions of its own production process; the sources cited here do not independently verify the process. Its welcome kit includes a container and return label, along with an explanatory video, booklet and cubic zirconias to illustrate size options. The page currently lists a $1 reservation deposit, which it says is deducted from the final diamond cost.
What does Eterneva currently charge, and how long does it take?
Eterneva’s FAQ currently lists a production timeline of about 10–12 months and prices from $3,499 for a 0.25-carat diamond to $75,000 for a 5-carat diamond. These are company-published figures and may change; check the current FAQ for the price of a particular size and customization.

The FAQ also says multiple-diamond family orders may receive special pricing and that Affirm payment plans are available for 6, 12 or 18 months. Availability and terms should be confirmed with Eterneva and the payment provider before ordering.
What should you check before sending ashes or hair?
A memorial diamond is a substantial, personalized purchase. Before paying a deposit or mailing irreplaceable material, get the important details in writing and make sure they fit your expectations.

Those are company statements; the cited sources do not establish an external audit of its custody controls or independently confirm the grading arrangement.
Eterneva’s FAQ names Jeweler’s Mutual as the insurer for its bespoke program and says application information is shared after delivery. It describes coverage for loss, theft, accidental damage and mysterious disappearance. Treat that as a description of the company’s program, not a guarantee of coverage: confirm current eligibility, exclusions, limits, deductibles and policy terms with the insurer before relying on it.

Is a memorial diamond a financial or grief-care solution?
