Which EPFO portal should you use?

Use the Member e-SEWA portal for account management
The Unified Member Portal is the member-facing route for UAN-linked account services such as KYC and basic-detail changes. EPFO’s joint-declaration procedure describes accessing the member interface and making account-related changes through Manage.
Do not confuse the member portal with EPFO’s Employer Portal. The latter is intended for employer and establishment administration rather than checking your individual account.
Use UMANG for UAN activation and listed claim services
EPFO’s current notice on the member portal says UAN activation and generation are now handled through UMANG face authentication and that direct UAN allotment through the portal has been discontinued. Follow the current UMANG flow rather than relying on older instructions that send you to the member portal for direct allotment.

UMANG also lists online claim filing and claim tracking. These are official routes, but a service listing does not guarantee that a particular function will be available for every account at every moment. Check the live official service interface before submitting a claim or troubleshooting access.
View your passbook on the separate EPFO passbook site
Passbook access is separate from the main member-account portal: use the EPFO Member Passbook sign-in with your UAN and password. UMANG also lists passbook viewing as an EPFO service.

If the passbook is missing
EPFO’s Employees’ Information Booklet addresses the question, “I am not able to see the Passbook or Passbook is not available?” One documented exception is an exempted establishment: a passbook may not be available through the UAN portal for its members. In that case, contact the establishment for a PF statement.
Protect your account when using EPFO services
EPFO’s Member Passbook page warns: “Please never respond to any call for sharing any personal details like Aadhaar, PAN, Bank details, OTP or request for any payment.” Use official EPFO or UMANG interfaces, and do not share these credentials or details with callers.

What to expect from online services
Official service pages identify where services are offered, but they do not establish a guaranteed uptime or claim-processing timeline. Check the relevant live portal for current availability and status rather than assuming a filing date predicts when a claim will be processed.
