What was reported about Emirates and the A350-1000?
On November 13, 2025, Bloomberg reported that Emirates was in advanced discussions for at least 30 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, with options for more. The report attributed the information to unnamed people familiar with the discussions. Bloomberg also said an agreement might be announced at the Dubai Airshow, while cautioning that completion was not guaranteed. This was reporting about negotiations, not a public order announcement. Did Emirates place the order?
Airbus’s June 2026 A350 firm-order list does not record an Emirates A350-1000 order. It lists 73 firm Emirates orders for the A350 family, all for the A350-900. How does this fit Emirates’ earlier A350-1000 discussions?
Emirates had considered the A350-1000 before. A July 2024 aviation-sector report said a proposal for up to 50 aircraft did not result in an order at the November 2023 Dubai Airshow. That earlier proposal is separate from Bloomberg’s report about talks in 2025. July 2024 aviation-sector report

The same 2024 report described the A350-1000 as longer and higher-capacity than the A350-900, and discussed concerns about Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engine time-on-wing under Emirates operating conditions. The source does not establish that these concerns caused the 2025 talks or explain their subsequent status.
What remains unknown?
The sources do not establish the final outcome of the private discussions, a final price, delivery schedule, or aircraft configuration. Airbus’s June 2026 list shows which firm orders it recorded, not everything discussed privately, and it cannot rule out an announcement after that date. For status later than June 2026, a newer Emirates or Airbus announcement would be needed.
