The stock identified by the October 9, 2026, Motley Fool article is Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA). The article says Elon Musk praised Nvidia GPUs for AI processing and reports that SpaceX plans to use Nvidia chips exclusively and is seeking financing to buy more. Those are reported developments, not independently confirmed company disclosures; the financing effort does not establish that money has been raised or chips purchased.
What the report says Musk said—and why Nvidia is the stock named
The October 9, 2026, Motley Fool article by Marc Guberti identifies Nvidia as the potential beneficiary. It reports that Musk praised Nvidia GPUs as the best available option for AI processing. It also says SpaceX will use Nvidia chips exclusively going forward and is seeking $40 billion in financing to buy additional chips.

These statements should be treated as claims attributed to that article. The underlying Musk post and SpaceX financing were not independently confirmed in the reporting reviewed here. In particular, “seeking” financing is prospective: it is not evidence that a transaction closed, that SpaceX received the money, or that it completed chip purchases.

How the reported catalyst could matter to Nvidia
Major AI customers’ demand for computing hardware can support a chipmaker’s sales outlook. If the reported SpaceX plan proceeds, it could represent demand for Nvidia products; an endorsement may also draw attention to the company’s AI hardware. But an announced preference or funding effort is not the same as recognized revenue. The effect would depend on whether financing is secured, purchases occur, and Nvidia can supply the products on commercially relevant terms.

The article also cites company growth and profitability as part of its case: it reports that Nvidia’s fiscal 2027 second-quarter revenue more than doubled year over year and that its net profit margin was 62%. Those figures are attributed to the article, not independently verified here against Nvidia’s earnings materials. They describe reported past results, not a guarantee that growth or margins will persist.
What this does not establish about Terafab
Terafab is a separate, longer-term manufacturing story; it should not be treated as proof that Nvidia has been displaced as the reported supplier to SpaceX’s AI operations. Tom’s Hardware reported on October 7, 2026, that Intel would remain involved in Terafab, describing a reported arrangement involving Intel’s next-generation 14A process. The report also says Musk proposed that TSMC might sublease part of the facility, while Musk’s companies build and operate it. The details remain unclear; these reports do not establish completed capacity or commercial production.

In that coverage, Tom’s Hardware reproduced Musk’s statement: “No, we will build and run the fab. Let there be ZERO doubt about that. Maybe TSMC subleases part of the Terafab if they want, but nothing more than that.” This is a quotation attributed to Musk by Tom’s Hardware, not independently checked against the original post here.

- Confirmation and timing: Whether SpaceX or Nvidia confirms the reported plan, whether funding closes, and when any purchases might translate into sales.
- Growth and margins: Whether Nvidia’s reported results remain strong and whether profitability holds as the business scales.
- Valuation: Whether the share price already reflects expectations for future AI demand. The reported catalyst alone cannot answer that question.
- Execution and supply: Nvidia must deliver products while meeting customer demand; delays, production constraints, or changing requirements could affect results.
- Competition and customer concentration: Buyers may pursue other suppliers or in-house chips, while reliance on a limited number of large customers can make demand less predictable.
- Financing and market risk: A customer’s ability to fund purchases matters, and a stock can fall even amid favorable business news because of valuation changes, execution problems, or broader market conditions.
A corporate customer’s interest can strengthen a revenue thesis, but it cannot guarantee future investment performance. The SpaceX-related points here remain reported claims, and any investment decision should account for both their uncertain status and the risks above.
