What the final result reports
Scroll reported that 49 candidates were declared qualified for a recruitment drive with 40 PO vacancies. These are different figures: 49 is the reported number on the qualified list, while 40 is the number of vacancies. A qualified result-list entry should not be read as proof that every listed candidate has been appointed.

ECGC’s 2024 recruitment advertisement set out an online examination followed by interviews for candidates shortlisted on exam performance. The written examination took place on 16 November 2024. Scroll reported that interviews ran from 3 to 21 February 2025 and that the final result was announced on 18 March 2025. The advertisement’s stated result window of 16–31 December 2024 was tentative, not the final-result date.
What a qualified result means for appointment
A name on the qualified list does not remove the stated eligibility and document requirements. Scroll reproduced a notice saying appointment is subject to satisfying or producing certificates for criteria such as age, educational qualification and category, including caste and income-and-asset certificates in the Government of India-approved format. Candidates should check the applicable notice and ensure their supporting documents meet its requirements.
