The evidence raises material questions about EagleFX, but it does not establish that the broker committed fraud or confirm the status of every account today. The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) listed Eagle FX on its RED List in 2020 over a registration concern; LHFX later said EagleFX closed in March 2025 and that it took on clients. Treat those as distinct, dated claims, and verify the exact company and account status before sending money or relying on a migration.
Is EagleFX a scam?
The reviewed evidence does not support calling EagleFX a proven scam. The CFTC says its review found Eagle FX appeared to require registration but was not registered with the Commission. It also says that a RED List entry does not mean the CFTC or a court concluded that a legal violation occurred. The entry is dated July 16, 2020, so it is not a complete current licensing check.
There is also a later operational-status claim: LHFX says EagleFX closed in March 2025 and that it agreed to take on clients. That is LHFX’s account of the transition, not independent confirmation that every account or balance transferred. EagleFX-branded pages still make broker claims, but the reviewed sources do not resolve whether the former service is currently operating or what recourse a particular customer has.
A careful summary is that the record raises due-diligence concerns, but does not establish fraud or confirm the present status of every account. The CFTC’s registration warning concerns U.S.-solicited activity; the relevant regulator and protections depend on your location, the contracting entity, and the product.

Who operates EagleFX?
The CFTC RED List identifies Eagle FX as originating in Dominica and being owned and operated by EagleFX Ltd. EagleFX’s own terms also identify EagleFX Ltd as the company and describe a CFD and over-the-counter trading service. These sources establish what the regulator’s entry and the company’s terms say; they do not verify current operations or authorization in every jurisdiction.
LHFX says EagleFX closed in March 2025 and that LHFX agreed to take on clients. Its page identifies Longhorn Ltd as its trading entity. The reviewed material does not independently verify that all EagleFX customers migrated, that balances transferred correctly, or what remedies may be available to former clients.
Before depositing or following up on an account:
- Identify the exact legal entity in the current account agreement.
- Confirm which company would hold or process your funds.
- Search the relevant regulator’s current register for that entity and any claimed licence number.
- Check that the permission covers the product and service offered in your jurisdiction.
- Use independently verified contact details to confirm any reported account transfer.
Why EagleFX can look legitimate
EagleFX-branded pages have advertised familiar trading features, including:
- Forex and cryptocurrency CFD trading.
- MetaTrader 4 (MT4) access.
- Leverage and online account services.
- Customer support and rapid withdrawals.
These are claims made on the company’s pages, not independent verification that the service is currently operating, that withdrawals are fast, or that a regulator authorizes the relevant entity. The homepage also warns customers they may lose all deposited funds or more.

Regulation and investor protection
The CFTC’s RED List entry is important but limited evidence. The CFTC says Eagle FX appeared to require registration with the Commission but was not registered. The agency explicitly cautions that inclusion on the list is not a finding by the CFTC or a court that a violation occurred. The entry is dated July 16, 2020, and concerns U.S.-solicited activity; it should not be presented as a current, worldwide licensing determination. Read the CFTC RED List entry.

Protections depend on the exact entity, your residence, and the product. Do not assume that protections available through a regulated firm in your country apply to an offshore or differently regulated account.
| What to check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Current authorization | Check the exact contracting entity on the relevant regulator’s current register, rather than relying on a brand name or old registration warning. |
| Client-money terms | Read the agreement for how funds are held and what happens if the firm fails; a published promise is not independent confirmation of protection. |
| Leverage and negative-balance terms | Confirm the applicable limits and whether you could owe more than your account balance under the contract and local rules. |
| Complaints and compensation | Check which complaint body, if any, can consider a dispute and whether any compensation scheme applies to this entity and account. |
| Withdrawal and migration arrangements | Confirm the current procedure and account-specific status directly through independently verified contact details. |
EagleFX’s terms are company-authored disclosures about CFDs, execution, market conditions, and costs. They are useful for understanding the terms the company published, but are not independent proof of authorization or current operating status. Read EagleFX’s terms and conditions.
Products, leverage and the real cost of trading
EagleFX’s company pages have advertised forex and cryptocurrency CFDs. Its terms describe CFDs as contracts whose value references changes in an underlying asset. A CFD generally gives price exposure rather than ownership of the underlying asset. Check the contract for the specific product and entity before trading.
The company’s homepage advertises leverage and warns that customers may lose all deposited funds or more. Leverage magnifies exposure and can magnify losses; do not infer a particular leverage limit or account protection from marketing material.
Before entering any CFD or other leveraged trade, read the current agreement and fee schedule for:
- The spread and any commission.
- Overnight financing or other holding costs.
- Currency-conversion costs.
- Deposit and withdrawal charges.
- Inactivity or account-maintenance fees.
- Execution terms and the possibility of slippage.
Claims such as rapid withdrawals or low trading costs are promotional unless independently verified. Check the terms that apply to your account before paying money.

Withdrawals and former EagleFX accounts
The reviewed sources do not establish EagleFX’s current withdrawal process or a general withdrawal-success rate. LHFX says it took on EagleFX clients after a reported March 2025 closure, but that statement does not verify that every customer migrated or that balances transferred correctly. A third-party review also reports a later domain redirect; confirm any current domain or destination directly before relying on that report.
If you are considering an account or following up on a former one:
- Identify the legal entity and current account agreement.
- Contact the firm using independently verified contact details, not a link or number from an unsolicited message.
- Ask for written confirmation of the account status, balance, withdrawal rules, and any claimed transfer.
- Save account statements, transaction references, emails, and correspondence.
- Do not pay an unexplained additional “tax,” “release,” or “insurance” fee to access a balance without independently verifying the demand.
A request for identity documents may be part of a firm’s verification process, but check the applicable terms and verify the recipient before sharing sensitive information. Be wary of anyone promising to recover funds for an upfront payment.
Warning signs that should stop a deposit
- The legal entity, regulator, or account status cannot be independently confirmed.
- You are promised fixed returns or told that losses are impossible.
- You are pressured to pay immediately or use an irreversible payment method.
- A representative asks for your banking password, card PIN, or one-time security code.
- You are asked to install remote-access software to manage your account or payment.
- You are told to pay an unexplained extra fee before a withdrawal or transfer.
These are general warning signs, not findings that any particular EagleFX customer experienced them. Verify claims using the regulator’s own register and the exact account documents.
How to check EagleFX or any broker independently
- Identify the entity. Read the current agreement and note the exact company name and jurisdiction.
- Check the relevant regulator. Search the regulator’s current register for that entity, licence number, and the permissions relevant to your product and location.
- Understand the CFTC entry. The CFTC RED List entry for Eagle FX is dated July 16, 2020 and describes a registration concern; the CFTC says it is not a finding that a violation occurred. See the CFTC entry.
- Verify any claimed migration. Contact both the former and receiving firms through independently confirmed details, and ask how your account and balance were handled.
- Read the terms and costs. Check the contracting party, withdrawal rules, fees, leverage, execution arrangements, and complaint process.
- Check payment details. Confirm who receives the payment and avoid sending funds to an unrelated person or entity.
A working platform, search result, or company marketing page does not substitute for checking authorization and account terms. EagleFX’s own homepage and terms should be treated as company claims, not independent verification.
What to do if you have already deposited
Keep account statements and correspondence, and contact the firm through independently verified details to establish which entity holds or processes the account. If you believe you were defrauded or cannot resolve an account issue, contact your bank or payment provider promptly to ask what options may be available, and contact the relevant regulator or consumer-protection body for your jurisdiction. Recovery is not guaranteed.

If you are a former EagleFX customer, LHFX’s page says it took on clients after EagleFX closed in March 2025. That statement alone does not confirm your account moved or establish how to recover an unresolved balance. Verify your individual status and preserve all supporting documents. Read LHFX’s former-client information.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is EagleFX suitable for investors?
The available evidence is not enough to endorse EagleFX as a currently operating, authorized broker. The CFTC’s 2020 registration warning and LHFX’s later statement that EagleFX closed and it took on clients make independent checks especially important. The reviewed sources do not resolve current authorization, whether all customers migrated, or what recourse a former customer may have.

FAQ
Did the CFTC declare EagleFX a scam?
No. The CFTC’s RED List entry says Eagle FX appeared to require registration but was not registered with the Commission. The CFTC also says that listing does not mean it or a court concluded a violation occurred. The entry is dated July 16, 2020. Read the CFTC entry.
Is EagleFX currently operating?
The sources reviewed do not settle EagleFX’s current operational status. LHFX says EagleFX closed in March 2025 and that it took on clients, while EagleFX-branded pages still make broker claims. Verify the exact entity, service, and account status directly through independently confirmed channels.
Did all EagleFX customers move to LHFX?
The reviewed evidence does not confirm that every customer migrated or that every balance transferred correctly. LHFX’s page describes its account of the transition, but former customers should confirm their own account and balance with independently verified contact details. See LHFX’s former-client page.
Best Value
Does EagleFX offer real shares?
EagleFX-branded pages have advertised forex and cryptocurrency CFDs, and its terms describe CFDs. A CFD generally provides price exposure rather than ownership of the underlying asset. Check the current contract and product details for the exact entity.
Can I get my money back from EagleFX?
The reviewed sources cannot determine the outcome for an individual account. Preserve statements and correspondence, verify which entity is responsible, and contact your bank or payment provider and relevant regulator promptly if you believe there is a problem. Do not pay an unexplained upfront recovery fee.
How can I check whether a broker is legitimate?
Find the exact legal entity in the account agreement, search the relevant regulator’s current register for that entity and product permission, and check the terms, costs, complaint process, and payment details. A brand name, marketing page, or trading platform alone does not establish authorization.
The Bottom Line
The evidence raises material due-diligence concerns about EagleFX, but does not establish that it is a proven scam or confirm the status of every customer account. The CFTC’s registration warning dates from 2020 and is not a fraud finding. LHFX says EagleFX closed in March 2025 and that it took on clients, but the reviewed evidence does not verify every migration or unresolved balance.
Before depositing or pursuing a former account, verify the exact legal entity, current status, and applicable regulator using independent sources. Preserve account records and seek guidance from your payment provider or relevant regulator if you have an unresolved problem.
