The brand’s archive says he wore the Circular C Re:wild edition at a Re:wild benefit auction in Miami on December 7; it does not identify the year in that sentence or describe a financial relationship. ID Genève’s archive supports the narrower claim: he wore the watch.
Is the ID Genève Circular C really backed by Leonardo DiCaprio?
The available official evidence documents a public appearance, not an investment. ID Genève says DiCaprio wore the Re:wild edition at a Re:wild benefit auction in Miami on December 7. The displayed sentence does not give the year, and it does not say he invested in ID Genève, funded Circular C, or sponsored the collection. Calling the watch “backed by Leonardo DiCaprio” therefore goes beyond what that source establishes.
The careful description is that DiCaprio wore the Circular C Re:wild edition at the event. A celebrity wearing a product is not, on its own, evidence of ownership, endorsement terms, or financial backing.
What is the ID Genève Circular C made from?
ID Genève describes Circular C as a collection built around regenerative carbon and a self-healing composite. In its launch story, the brand says the carbon fibers are recycled from wind-turbine manufacturing waste and that the composite can heal with heat. It names CompPair as its technology collaborator. These are the brand’s descriptions; the available material does not independently audit the sourcing or performance claims.
The first LAB edition was announced as a limited run of 20 pieces. ID Genève describes its irregular, granular fiber arrangement as part of the design. The brand also says the straps are made from MIRUM, a material it describes as not relying on petrochemicals or plastics. Those material statements are likewise attributable to the brand.

What does the Re:wild edition have to do with DiCaprio?
ID Genève says the Re:wild edition’s green design was inspired by Re:wild’s signature green and records DiCaprio wearing the watch at the benefit auction. That establishes the connection presented by the brand: the edition is associated with Re:wild, and DiCaprio wore it at the event. It does not establish that he designed the watch or financially supported the watchmaker.

Is the ID Genève Circular C available to buy?
ID Genève’s archive has listed a Circular C SDG edition from CHF 8,500 with acquisition by request, a 20-piece Circular C Red LAB edition, and the Re:wild edition. The Re:wild and Red LAB entries were shown as out of stock in the archive. These are page-state observations, not guaranteed current prices or availability; confirm the status directly with the official archive before making a purchase decision.

What can the environmental figures tell a buyer?
ID Genève publishes environmental figures, but the stated scopes matter. Its impact page’s comparison of 54% fewer emissions than an equivalent conventional watch and its 8.6% virgin-materials figure are specific to Circular S; neither is a Circular C result. The page also states 2.13 kg CO₂eq avoided equivalent per watch sold as a brand-wide claim, not a Circular C-specific calculation. ID Genève’s 2024 supply-chain traceability baseline—100% for Tier 1 and partial for Tier 2—is also brand-level information.

These figures should not be used to claim a quantified emissions reduction or traceability rate for Circular C. They are brand-published figures, and the reviewed sources do not provide an independent Circular C lifecycle assessment. See ID Genève’s impact page for the company’s stated methods and scope.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What should a buyer verify beyond the celebrity connection?
The documented DiCaprio connection does not answer the practical ownership questions that matter when comparing a watch. The material in ID Genève’s product story and archive does not establish the Circular C’s movement specifications, warranty, repairability or service arrangements, or an independently assessed lifecycle impact. Ask the seller or brand for those details and confirm the exact edition, price, and availability before buying.
