Doppel announced a $35 million Series B on May 2, 2025, led by Bessemer Venture Partners at a company-stated $205 million valuation. The enterprise cybersecurity company said it would use the funding to expand its social-engineering-defense platform and meet growing enterprise demand; the announcement did not break out spending by category.

Who invested in Doppel’s $35 million Series B?

Doppel said the round brought its total funding to $54.4 million. Bessemer Venture Partners led the financing. First-time investors 9Yards Capital and Sozo Ventures joined, alongside returning investors a16z, South Park Commons, Strategic Cyber Ventures, Script Capital, and Sabrina Hahn. The amount, valuation, and total funding are terms reported by Doppel in its May 2, 2025 announcement.

What does Doppel do?

Doppel sells enterprise software for digital risk protection (DRP), a category focused on identifying, monitoring, and addressing threats outside an organization’s traditional network perimeter. Its Vision platform is described as bringing together threat intelligence and visibility across domains, social media, email, and apps, then helping customers pursue takedowns. Doppel says it combines large language model technology with expert human analysis.

On its current Digital Risk Protection page, Doppel describes coverage for threats such as phishing sites, spoofed domains, fake social accounts, fraudulent ads, marketplace scams, and wider social-engineering campaigns. Its stated use cases include brand and impersonation protection, executive and VIP protection, fraud and scam prevention, and campaign-level threat visibility. These are the company’s descriptions of its product and category, not independent assessments of effectiveness.

What was the funding meant to support?

Doppel said it planned to invest in core products, serve growing enterprise demand, and build its social-engineering-defense platform. The announcement also named research and development, global operations, customer support, and sales as priorities. It provided no budget breakdown, so the amount allocated to any one area is not established.

What growth did Doppel report?

In its Series B announcement, Doppel reported the following changes since its January 2024 Series A:

  • Enterprise customers increased 400%.
  • Customers overall increased 90%.
  • Annual recurring revenue increased threefold.
  • Expansion revenue from existing customers increased eightfold.
  • The company reported a 230% compound annual growth rate since 2022.

These are company-reported figures from Doppel’s financing announcement. The cited announcement does not establish that they were independently audited, and they should not be read as a forecast or a measure of results every customer can expect.

How did Doppel’s AI deployment evolve after the Series B?

In an October 28, 2025 case study, OpenAI said Doppel built a system using GPT-5 and o4-mini, with reinforcement fine-tuning based on decisions made by Doppel analysts. The described workflow filters signals, applies multiple reasoning and confirmation steps, classifies potential threats, and sends low-confidence or conflicting decisions to human analysts. OpenAI also said the system could automatically enforce decisions above a confidence threshold, with AI-generated explanations accompanying automated takedowns.

OpenAI reported that this deployment reduced response times from hours to minutes, cut analyst workloads by 80%, and tripled threat-handling capacity. Those are results attributed to OpenAI’s case study about Doppel’s deployment, not independently established benchmarks or a guarantee for other organizations. The case study described expansion to other channels as a future milestone at the time; it does not establish that the roadmap was completed.

What happened after the Series B?

In a later development, Doppel announced a $70 million Series C and said it had shipped Human Risk Management, including multi-channel phishing simulations and AI-generated security-awareness training. That announcement belongs to the company’s subsequent timeline, not the May 2025 Series B. See Doppel’s Series C announcement for the later funding and product claims.

Does Doppel offer a consumer security product?

The product described in these announcements and on Doppel’s site is enterprise software, not a consumer device or a typical personal subscription recommendation. For a business evaluating DRP, Doppel’s product page suggests practical areas to examine: whether monitoring covers the external channels relevant to the organization; whether impersonation of its brand and executives is reduced; how long it takes to disrupt a campaign after the first signal; and how many malicious assets are identified and taken down. Those are evaluation measures Doppel says customers can track, not published proof of universal outcomes.

For readers managing personal finances, the funding round is best understood as a business milestone in enterprise cybersecurity. It does not, by itself, show that an individual should buy a consumer security product or that Doppel’s enterprise service is available for personal use.
