Which Dollar General coffee was recalled?
The recall is limited to 8-ounce jars of Clover Valley Instant Coffee with UPC 876941004069 and one of these lot and best-by combinations, according to Dollar General’s announcement hosted by the FDA:

The lot and best-by information is printed around the jar’s neck. The brand name alone is not enough to identify an affected product: compare the size, UPC, lot code and date. Other Clover Valley coffee products and lots are not identified as part of this recall.
Where and when was it sold?
Dollar General said the recalled product was sold exclusively at Dollar General stores in the states listed in its announcement, from July 9 through July 21, 2025. The notice does not establish that the product was sold in every state or through other retailers. The FDA-hosted page is a company announcement made available as a public service; the FDA says such postings do not constitute agency endorsement of the product or company.

Why was the coffee recalled?
A customer notified store employees about the potential presence of glass. Dollar General’s announcement says swallowing glass fragments could damage teeth, cut the mouth or throat, or perforate the intestine. The notice reported no illnesses or injuries at the time it was issued.
What should you do if you have a matching jar?
- Stop using it. Do not taste or serve coffee from a jar that matches the recalled identifiers.
- Discard the product. FDA guidance says contaminated food should be securely wrapped before being put in the trash. Clean and sanitize any surfaces that contacted the product.
- Request a refund. Dollar General says purchasers of affected product can contact the company for a full refund, including tax, at [email protected] or 1-888-309-9030.

Is the recall still active?
The FDA page currently labels the recall “completed” and “terminated.” That status describes the recall’s administrative status; it does not change the notice’s discard and refund directions for anyone who still has a jar matching the listed identifiers. The notice was announced by Dollar General on August 11, 2025, and posted by the FDA on August 12, 2025.
