The 10 Robux amount is a separate publishing advance for making an approved classic shirt, T-shirt, or pair of pants available for sale. Uploading and publishing are separate steps, so both charges may apply if you submit a shirt and then sell it.
What the 10 Robux charge covers
Roblox lists 10 Robux as a non-limited publishing advance for classic T-shirts, shirts, and pants. It is not the current fee to upload a classic shirt. Roblox describes publishing advances as upfront fees that can be recovered under its rebate conditions; the exact recovery depends on those conditions.
The upload fee is a separate charge for submitting the clothing image for moderation. Roblox’s classic-clothing documentation currently states that each submission costs 80 Robux. If the item passes moderation and you choose to put it on sale, the publishing advance may also apply.

Roblox’s July 7, 2026 announcement described plans to unify upload requirements and set the 2D upload charge at 80 Robux while retaining a 10 Robux publishing fee for 2D items. The current Creator Hub and Marketplace fee pages distinguish the 80 Robux upload charge from the 10 Robux classic-clothing publishing advance.

How to create, upload, and sell a classic shirt
Roblox classifies T-shirts, Shirts, and Pants as classic clothing. The workflow is to prepare the image, test it in Studio, submit it through the Creator Dashboard, and—if approved—manage the item and enable it for sale.
- Create the clothing image. Use Roblox’s classic clothing guidance and templates for shirts and pants.
- Test it in Roblox Studio. Studio testing does not require a fee.
- Submit it for moderation. Upload through the Creator Dashboard. The current upload charge is 80 Robux per submission.
- Publish it for sale if approved. This is a separate step and may require the 10 Robux publishing advance for classic clothing.
Eligibility requirements and rejected uploads
Roblox’s Marketplace policy separates the requirements to upload from those to publish. To upload, the policy requires government ID verification or a linked parental account with government ID verification, as well as the upload fee. Publishing also requires two-step verification and Roblox Plus or a qualifying Premium membership (Premium 1000 or 2200) for the individual creator or group owner. The policy also says keeping existing content on sale requires Roblox Plus or a qualifying Premium membership.

Roblox says upload fees are generally not refunded when moderation rejects an item. Since the fee is charged per submission, check that the image follows Roblox’s clothing guidance before uploading.
