What the $149 threshold applies to
Google’s financing FAQ states, “Purchases $149+ qualify for 0% APR with 12 equal monthly payments.” The threshold is attached to that 12-month promotional offer; it does not, on its own, mean that every purchase below $149 is barred from financing. The page does not establish a single minimum that applies to every product, offer, or account. Google Store’s U.S. financing page was accessed October 8, 2026; it does not provide a publication date.
How phone financing differs
The same Google Store page says phone purchases qualify for 0% APR with 36 equal monthly payments. That is a separate stated term from the $149 threshold and 12-payment offer. The page does not explain whether every phone purchase, price, or shopper qualifies, so use the offer displayed for the specific phone and cart at checkout.
What Google Store Financing is—and what it is not
Google Store Financing is a credit card issued and serviced by Synchrony Bank. If approved, it can be used for Google Store products subject to the account’s credit limit; Google does not describe it as a general-purpose financing account for Amazon or other retailers. Approval, available credit, and eligibility for a particular cart are not guaranteed by the published offer.

Google also lists Klarna and PayPal Pay Later as separate installment options at checkout. They are not Google Store Financing and have their own eligibility and terms. Google says Klarna Pay in 4 is interest-free when paid on time; other Klarna plans or missed payments may involve interest or fees.
How promotional payments and missed payments work
For promotional 0% APR offers, Google says equal monthly payments are calculated by dividing the total purchase amount—including taxes and shipping—by the applicable promotional period. Missing required payments may result in late fees. Purchases outside a promotional offer are subject to the card’s standard terms, so review the account terms and payment details before placing an order.

How to check whether your purchase qualifies
- Open the Google Store U.S. financing page and review the current offer for the product you intend to buy.
- Add the item to your cart and check the financing options displayed at checkout. Confirm the applicable APR, payment period, and total amount financed for that cart.
- Before submitting an application or order, review the card terms and the payment schedule, including the treatment of taxes and shipping. Do not assume the $149 offer applies to a different product or checkout installment service.
