On 21 August 2025, BA said it would reintroduce daily flights from Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW) to London Heathrow (LHR) for Summer 2026. American Airlines also advertises daily DFW–LHR flights, so the route is not described by the airlines as American-only. Because schedules can change, check the operating flight and booking availability for your travel dates.
Did British Airways stop flying from Dallas?
BA’s 21 August 2025 Summer 2026 announcement says: “Daily service from Dallas-Fort Worth to London Heathrow has also been reintroduced.” That describes a planned return to daily service for Summer 2026; it does not establish year-round operation or guarantee a flight on every date.
The announcement also mentions frequency changes at Miami, Las Vegas, San Diego, Austin and New York. Those changes are separate from the DFW announcement and should not be read as evidence that BA permanently left Dallas.
Is American Airlines the only airline flying from Dallas to London?
No. American Airlines advertises daily flights between DFW and LHR, while BA’s announcement describes its own daily DFW–LHR service for Summer 2026. The cited airline information therefore does not support describing American as the sole carrier on this airport pair.

American identifies DFW as its largest hub. It says that more than 30% of its daily connecting customers and daily connecting checked bags travel through DFW. That figure concerns American’s hub operation; it is not a measure of DFW–London passengers or of BA’s service.
How to check whether a flight operates on your dates
A route listing or seasonal announcement is not a promise that a particular flight will operate or be bookable on a chosen date. BA says its timetable can show scheduled flights up to a year ahead, timetables change twice a year, and operational requirements may lead to further adjustments. It also notes that some displayed flights may not be bookable through ba.com.
- Check BA’s timetable or booking display for your exact travel dates and the DFW–LHR airport pair.
- Check American’s flight search for the same dates and airports.
- For each itinerary, verify the operating carrier, departure time, nonstop status, fare and cabin conditions, and whether the itinerary can be booked on the airline’s site.
- Recheck close to departure, since schedules can change.
These checks matter because the cited route pages and announcements do not establish live availability, a particular flight time, aircraft, fare or booking conditions.

BA and American are part of a broader Atlantic Joint Business with Iberia, Finnair, Aer Lingus and LEVEL. BA has described the partnership as providing connections and fares across Europe and North America. That business relationship is separate from which airline operates an individual flight: it does not show that BA ceded DFW–LHR to American.
