What has to qualify for a Best Buy price match?
Best Buy’s guarantee applies to new products sold by Best Buy. The product must be identical to the one with the lower price and immediately available. The lower price must be current and available to all customers. Best Buy allows one match at purchase per identical item per customer.

Check these points before you make a request:
- Seller: The product must be sold by Best Buy or by a qualified competitor—not a third-party Marketplace seller.
- Product: It must be the same product, not merely a similar model, and it must be new.
- Availability: The item must be immediately available. Out-of-stock and limited-quantity offers are excluded.
- Offer: The lower price must be current and generally available, rather than a deal format excluded by the policy.
Which stores does Best Buy price match?
Best Buy’s qualified-competitor list includes Abt, Amazon, Apple, B&H Photo Video, BJ’s Wholesale Club, BrandsMart USA, Costco, Crutchfield, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Menards, Micro Center, Nebraska Furniture Mart, P.C. Richard, RC Willey, Sam’s Club, Target and Walmart. The list is subject to the policy’s other requirements; a product listed on one of these sites does not qualify if it is sold by a third-party Marketplace seller.
Does Best Buy price match Amazon?
It can match an eligible Amazon price if the identical new item is immediately available and sold by Amazon, rather than by a third-party seller on Amazon Marketplace. The offer must also meet Best Buy’s general conditions and avoid the policy’s exclusions.

What about warehouse-club prices?
Offers from a listed warehouse club may qualify if the product is identical, immediately available and meets the other criteria. There is a narrow procedure when the club’s website hides the price behind a membership login: Best Buy says the match is available only in a store and must be based on a live offer, not a screenshot. Membership-only prices are otherwise among the exclusions, so do not assume every member price qualifies.
Which prices and promotions are excluded?
Best Buy’s policy excludes several common deal types. The list includes Marketplace products; clearance, open-box, refurbished and pre-owned items; out-of-stock and limited-quantity offers; membership-only and certain loyalty prices; financing offers; bundles; coupons; gift-card offers; services; pricing errors; and specified daily or hourly deals and Thanksgiving-period offers. The policy also excludes competitor service prices, including delivery, installation and computer services.

Because exclusions can depend on the exact offer, check the current policy for the deal you want matched. A lower advertised number alone does not establish eligibility.
How to request a price match before buying
Use the request channel that matches how you are buying. Best Buy recommends having the competitor’s current ad or website address ready so it can verify the price and availability.

- For a BestBuy.com order, app order or store-pickup order: Contact Best Buy through online chat or by phone. The policy says these requests cannot be completed in a store or by email.
- For a purchase in a retail store: Ask a Customer Specialist or visit the customer-service desk.
- Provide the offer details: Show the current ad or give the website address. The product, seller, price and availability need to be verifiable.
Can Best Buy match a lower price after you buy?
Best Buy says it will match a lower price on its own store, website or app during the applicable return and exchange period if you request it. The policy also addresses qualifying lower competitor prices during that period. It does not establish one universal number of days for every purchase, so check the return and exchange window that applies to your order rather than assuming a fixed period.
How are tax, shipping and holiday prices handled?
Best Buy compares the pre-tax price; a competitor’s tax amount does not change your sales tax. Shipping and delivery charges are excluded from the online price comparison.

Best Buy’s holiday FAQ says it will match a lower Best Buy price during the holiday season, subject to exclusions. That does not make competitor holiday promotions automatically eligible: the main policy excludes specified Thanksgiving-period offers and certain Black Friday pricing.
