No. Amazon Business says its new Prime Business Card earns 5% back on eligible U.S. purchases at Amazon Business, Amazon.com, AWS and Whole Foods Market—but only on the first $150,000 in purchases each year. After that, the rate in those categories drops to 1%. Prime membership is required for this card’s 5% offer.
Does the new Amazon card really give 5% back on all Amazon purchases?
No. The wording “all Amazon purchases” is too broad. In its May 13, 2026 launch announcement, Amazon Business specified 5% back on eligible U.S. purchases at Amazon Business, Amazon.com, AWS and Whole Foods Market, subject to the annual cap. Account terms determine which purchases qualify, so check the current disclosures before applying.

The Prime Business Card is a business credit card issued by U.S. Bank and powered by Mastercard. Amazon announced it alongside a separate Amazon Business Card, which does not require Prime membership. The headline 5% rate applies to the Prime version, not every Amazon-branded card.
Do I need Prime to get 5% back?
Yes. Amazon Business describes the Prime Business Card as intended for Prime members; its 5% category offer requires Prime. The separate Amazon Business Card is the no-Prime-required alternative and offers up to 3% in eligible categories, according to the launch announcement. The announcement does not provide enough detail to treat that “up to 3%” rate as a universal return on every purchase, so review its current terms.

How the Prime Business Card rewards work
Amazon Business’s launch announcement describes several earning rates. The $150,000 annual purchase limit applies separately to the listed 5% Amazon-related categories and the 2% top-three non-Amazon categories.

What the $150,000 cap means
The 5% rate does not continue indefinitely: once eligible purchases in the specified Amazon-related categories reach $150,000 in a year, Amazon says those categories earn 1% thereafter. Separately, its announcement says the 2% top-three non-Amazon categories apply to the first $150,000 in purchases each year. Check the card’s current terms for how the issuer defines the measurement year and eligible spending.
Can Amazon Day Delivery increase the rate?
Amazon Business describes a separate Amazon Day Delivery offer that can add 1% on qualifying Amazon.com purchases, potentially bringing the return to 6% or more in qualifying cases. It is not an automatic bonus on every purchase: the official benefits page says purchases must be shipped by Amazon and excludes some product types, including software subscriptions, gift cards, digital video games and memberships. Amazon says the offer may be changed or canceled.

Both cards are issued by U.S. Bank and run on Mastercard. Amazon’s announcement lists no annual fee and no foreign transaction fee for the cards; review the live application disclosures for current fees and account terms.

Is this the Prime Visa or Prime Store Card?
No. The Prime Business Card is a newly announced business card from U.S. Bank. The Prime Store Card is a separate consumer product issued and administered by Synchrony Bank, as described on Amazon Pay’s Prime Store Card page. Its qualifying 5% benefit has separate terms and cannot be combined with special financing or equal monthly payments. Amazon Pay also says that benefit may be changed or discontinued.
Do not confuse either card with the Prime Visa: the new product’s business-card terms do not establish the Prime Visa’s rewards or eligibility.
