Warren Buffett is not shown as buying TTI in a new deal by the available primary sources. Berkshire Hathaway announced an agreement to acquire the electronic-components distributor on December 22, 2006, and TTI records the acquisition as completed in 2007. The headline “Warren Buffett to buy distributor TTI” describes that historical transaction, not a verified current purchase.
Did Warren Buffett buy TTI?
Berkshire Hathaway announced on December 22, 2006, that it had entered a definitive agreement to acquire TTI, Inc. The announcement said the transaction included TTI subsidiary Mouser Electronics. Berkshire’s release identified TTI as a privately held electronic-component distributor headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. Berkshire Hathaway’s December 22, 2006 announcement
TTI’s company history records the acquisition in 2007 and identifies the company as part of Berkshire Hathaway. The two dates refer to different milestones: the 2006 announcement of the agreement and TTI’s recorded acquisition year. TTI company profile and history
What is TTI?
TTI describes itself as a specialist and authorized distributor of electronic components. Its customers include manufacturers in industrial, military, aerospace, and consumer-electronics markets. In practical terms, TTI supplies components to businesses that make electronic products; this is a business-to-business distribution operation, not a consumer brand being acquired for household use. Is Buffett buying TTI now?
The cited primary sources establish the historical agreement and acquisition, but do not verify a new TTI purchase. Berkshire Hathaway’s 2026 news index does not identify a TTI announcement; an index search that turns up no announcement is not proof that none exists. A current transaction should be described as such only if supported by a new Berkshire Hathaway or TTI announcement or other reliable primary documentation. Berkshire Hathaway news

In the 2006 announcement, Warren Buffett was identified as Berkshire Hathaway’s chairman and chief executive officer. The release quoted him: “Paul Andrews is a remarkable man who has built an outstanding business. We are pleased to have the opportunity to add TTI to the Berkshire Hathaway Group.” This is a statement from the historical acquisition announcement, not a recent comment.
