A June 2025 report said Walmart gave some affected customers a limited chance to reorder, but it does not establish a current policy or guarantee that your preorder can be restored. If there is no offer, check live listings elsewhere and review the seller, total price, and fulfillment terms before buying.
Can Walmart reinstate a canceled Switch 2 preorder?
Possibly, but Walmart’s public help pages do not promise that a canceled order can be reinstated. Tom’s Guide reported during the June 2025 launch period that Walmart contacted some customers whose preorders had been canceled and offered them a time-limited chance to reorder. That was a reported exception at the time, not evidence of a standing or current reinstatement program. Tom’s Guide’s report

Check Account > Purchase history in Walmart, along with your email and app notifications, for an offer specifically addressed to you. Why Walmart may have canceled your order

- The item was out of stock or the listing contained an error.
- Walmart needed more information for a fraud review.
- A carrier or shipping method was unavailable.
- The app or browser was unsupported or out of date.
Inventory can also change between checkout and order processing: Walmart says an item may appear available when ordered but be out of stock when the order is processed. It says it will email customers when it cancels an item or order. Walmart’s Out of Stock Items help page
What happens to a pending charge or refund?
Walmart’s policy says, “If we cancel your order, we won’t charge you.” A temporary authorization hold may still appear on your card while your bank processes the release. Walmart says it cannot remove that hold, so contact your bank if it remains. Walmart also says card refunds can take up to seven business days. Walmart’s Canceled Orders help page

How to find a replacement console
If Walmart has not sent you a reorder offer, compare live listings for the Nintendo Switch 2. A past stock tracker is only a snapshot, not confirmation that a retailer has inventory now. Tom’s Guide stock tracker

Before placing a replacement order, check:
- Stock: Confirm availability on the retailer’s current listing and again at checkout.
- Seller: Identify who is actually selling the console, especially on marketplace listings.
- Price: Compare the final total, including shipping and any other displayed charges; do not rely on an old stock report.
- What is included: Confirm whether the listing is for the standalone console or a bundle, and review the bundle contents.
- Fulfillment: Check the delivery estimate or pickup location and terms before submitting payment.
