Newzoo’s June 18, 2026 retrospective says the global games market crossed $200 billion for the first time in 2025. That is a Newzoo market estimate, not an independently audited tally. It measures consumer spending across multiple formats, rather than boxed-game sales alone. Newzoo attributed the stronger result to performance that exceeded earlier estimates: PC delivered its strongest growth rate on record, while mobile outperformed prior expectations.
