The report describes the amount as the game’s cost, but the available materials do not establish whether that means development budget alone or a broader project cost. They also do not give a detailed calculation of revenue or expenses.
How many copies did it sell on launch day?
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II launched on February 4, 2025. Embracer Group said in its February 13 report that the game sold over 1 million copies in its first 24 hours and was approaching 2 million copies by the time of the report. Copies sold and money received by a studio are different measures. A first-day unit-sales total does not, by itself, reveal how much of the consumer spending reached the publisher or developer, or which costs were included in the reported budget. The cited reports do not itemize platform or storefront shares, taxes, refunds, discounts, publishing terms, marketing costs, or the accounting definition of development budget. Those details are not established by the available reporting; their absence should not be taken to mean that any particular deduction applied.

Accordingly, the evidence supports two separate statements: Embracer reported more than 1 million first-day sales, and Stream/Seznam Zprávy reported that Vávra said the game had paid for itself on its first day. It does not support treating the latter as a published, independently verified net-profit calculation.
