Jasmine Crockett’s application for the phrase “Bleach Blonde Bad Built Butch Body” was reported after a May 2024 exchange with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. TrademarkElite, a third-party trademark database, reports that the mark later registered on June 30, 2026. The USPTO-linked case viewer retrieved for this article did not display case details, so that registration status has not been independently confirmed here in the agency’s records.

What happened during the committee exchange?

WSB-TV reported that the phrase followed Greene’s comment about Crockett’s fake eyelashes during a House committee hearing. Crockett responded: “I’m just curious. To better understand your ruling, if someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody’s bleached blonde, bad-built, butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?”

In its May 2024 coverage, WSB-TV said Crockett had filed a trademark application for the phrase. The filing made the remark the subject of a trademark record; it did not, by itself, establish that merchandise was being sold.

What does the trademark record report?

TrademarkElite identifies the application as serial number 98557845 and gives Jasmine for US as the owner. It reports a filing date of May 19, 2024, registration number 8326534, and a registration date of June 30, 2026. These later status details are reported by a third-party database, not independently verified in the USPTO case record retrieved here.

The USPTO says its Trademark Official Gazette is published each Tuesday and contains bibliographic information and a representative drawing for each mark published, as well as lists of cancelled and renewed registrations. For details about an individual mark, the agency directs users to its trademark search system. The USPTO-linked viewer for this case showed no case details or documents in the material reviewed, so it cannot substantiate TrademarkElite’s registration report.

What goods and services are listed?

TrademarkElite lists the following goods and service categories for the mark:

  • Hats
  • Hoodies
  • Socks
  • Bottoms as clothing
  • T-shirts
  • Tops as clothing
  • Political consultancy

WSB-TV’s contemporaneous report described the application as covering clothing, including hats, hoodies, socks, bottoms, T-shirts, and tops. The later database record also lists political consultancy.

Does registration mean official merchandise is for sale?

No. A registration entry and a list of goods or services do not establish that a product is currently available, identify a seller, or confirm that any marketplace listing is authorized. The sources reviewed establish categories in the record, not a current official store or authorized retailer. Treat apparel found through a generic search as unverified unless the seller’s authorization and current availability can be confirmed.
