TMZ reported on November 12, 2024, that Britney Spears was scheduled to send Kevin Federline a final $10,000 child-support payment on November 15. The report said she had made another $10,000 payment earlier that month. It described a planned transfer, however; the available reporting does not independently confirm that the final payment cleared or provide a public court order verifying the terms.
What was reported about the final payment?
TMZ reported that Spears was expected to make a $10,000 transfer to Federline on November 15, 2024, after paying $10,000 at the beginning of November. TMZ attributed the details to people with direct knowledge. The report establishes what was scheduled, not independent proof of a completed bank transfer.

The reported cutoff was tied to Jayden completing high school. TMZ said the November payment was the final one under the arrangement because Jayden was finishing school. The underlying order or agreement was not available in the sources reviewed, so the precise terms should be treated as reported rather than confirmed by a publicly reviewed legal document.
Why did payments reportedly continue after Jayden turned 18?
In a September 12, 2024 report, TMZ said the reported arrangement continued beyond Jayden’s eighteenth birthday until he graduated from high school, because the cutoff was whichever event happened later. The November report described school completion as the reason payments were ending then. This is a case-specific account, not a general rule about when child support ends.

How did the reported support amounts change?
Published figures refer to different stages of the arrangement and should not be read as one unchanged monthly amount.
| Period | Reported amount or event | Source and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| 2007 | $20,000 per month, increased from $15,000 | Courthouse News Service reported this as the amount in the custody settlement. |
| 2018 | Rose from $20,000 to $40,000 per month | TMZ later reported this change retrospectively. |
| After Sean Preston turned 18 | Reportedly returned to $20,000 per month | TMZ reported this amount before the final scheduled transfers. |
| November 2024 | Two reported payments of $10,000 each | TMZ said one was paid at the beginning of the month and the other was scheduled for November 15; it did not independently confirm the final transfer cleared. |
The figures above are reports about this family’s arrangement, not general child-support benchmarks. The reviewed material does not include the underlying agreement or order.

Did the end of recurring support mean all financial help ended?
Not necessarily. Music Times, citing a report by Page Six, quoted Federline’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan as saying that expense categories Spears had volunteered to cover could continue after recurring support ended. The agreement’s specifics were not disclosed, so the reporting does not establish which expenses, if any, continued or were later paid.

In a separate June 25, 2024 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Kaplan said there had been telephone communication between Spears and her sons and described reconciliation as a lengthy, difficult process: “Reconciliations and the reunification of relationships are difficult and take time. They are sometimes complicated and always a lengthy process.” That statement provides relationship context; it does not verify the payment schedule or describe current family circumstances.
