What was claimed about Big Red and ESPN?
TechBullion published an item credited as partner content by Zexprwire on May 31, 2024. It described Big Red as an Avalanche token with the ticker $TD and said it had run a 30-second commercial on ESPN. The headline called it the first Avalanche coin to advertise on the network. The item also said the commercial featured Trader Joe’s and Avalanche and characterized the ad as the start of a long-term relationship with ESPN. Those are claims in the same partner-content article; the available sources do not independently verify those appearances or an ongoing relationship.
Is the ESPN advertising milestone verified?
No independent ESPN confirmation, ad record, or dated campaign placement was located. The article does not specify when the commercial aired, which ESPN channel or program carried it, its placement schedule, or details of the ad buy. It also does not link to the spot. Those omissions make it difficult to verify that the ad ran or to test the claim that it was the first of its kind. ESPN’s media kit provides advertising and inquiry information, but it is not confirmation of this campaign.

Accordingly, describe this as a milestone claimed by the May 2024 partner-content article, not as a verified ESPN record. The word “first” is especially uncertain: the available evidence does not establish the full history of Avalanche-token advertising on ESPN.
Which Big Red does the headline mean?
The cryptocurrency is not Western Kentucky University’s mascot. WKU Athletics documented its mascot, also called Big Red, appearing in ESPN commercials in 2002, including a planned nationwide campaign associated with SportsCenter’s 25,000th episode. WKU Athletics’ 2002 account concerns the mascot, not the Avalanche token.

That earlier mascot appearance does not show that an Avalanche coin had advertised on ESPN before 2024. It does show why “Big Red” without context can be confusing: the name refers to separate entities, and the mascot’s ESPN history is not evidence about the crypto campaign.
What is the token identified in the report?
The article identifies the promoted cryptocurrency as Big Red, ticker $TD, on Avalanche. Coinbase’s asset page associates $TD with the Avalanche C-Chain and lists the same contract address: 0x87bbfc9dcb66caa8ce7582a3f17b60a25cd8a248. Coinbase says the asset is not tradable on Coinbase and that its market data comes from third parties. Coinbase’s Big Red page can help identify the asset; it does not verify the ESPN advertisement.
