There is not enough independent evidence to conclude that Avalanche Foundation meme coin rules caused an AVAX selloff—or that BNB and Pushd maintained gains. The headline traces to a company-submitted announcement dated January 26, 2024, which reported proposed screening criteria and connected them to market movements without establishing causation. Its BNB comparison and Pushd presale claims are also not independently substantiated by the sources reviewed.
What the January 2024 headline actually claimed
The TechBullion article, published January 26, 2024 and labeled a company-submitted announcement, said the Avalanche Foundation had criteria for acquiring meme coins. It reported that qualifying tokens should be autonomous from their creators, connected to Avalanche, have a market capitalization of at least $1 million, liquidity above $200,000, at least 2,000 holders, and substantial daily trading volume. The article characterized these conditions as stringent and linked them to an AVAX selloff and declining investor confidence. Read the dated announcement.

Those figures and the claimed causal link are assertions in that announcement, not independently confirmed Foundation policy or independently established market findings. The source record does not provide evidence sufficient to show that the reported rules triggered a selloff.
Did the rules cause an AVAX selloff?
The available evidence does not establish that they did. A reported policy criterion and a price decline occurring around the same time would not, by themselves, prove cause and effect. Establishing the claim would require reliable price data for a defined period and evidence connecting the move to the Foundation announcement rather than other market factors. That evidence is not established here.

What Avalanche’s official documentation does establish
Avalanche Support describes the primary X, P, and C chains as permissionless: anyone can build on them. It also notes that Avalanche allows permissioned as well as permissionless L1s. This describes network access, not what criteria the Foundation uses for treasury purchases. Avalanche Support: Is Avalanche network permissionless or permissioned?
AVAX is Avalanche’s native token, and a node must stake AVAX to validate a blockchain, according to Avalanche Support. That explains a network function; it does not identify the cause of a short-term price move. Avalanche Support: How does proof-of-stake work?

No comparable, independently verified return data is established for AVAX, BNB, and PUSHD in the evidence reviewed. The January announcement said BNB quickly recovered a ranking after concerns related to India, but that narrative does not establish a return over a defined period or verify a claim that BNB maintained gains.
The same article promoted Pushd as a decentralized peer-to-peer e-commerce platform and cited a zero-commission claim, more than 22,000 signups, and a presale. Those are dated promotional statements, not confirmed current platform terms, operating status, or investment performance. Its signup figure and presale details are not independently verified here.

How to interpret the three assets and their evidence
| Asset | Role described by available sources | What the evidence supports |
|---|---|---|
| AVAX | Avalanche’s native token; Avalanche Support says validators stake it. | Official documentation supports its network role. It does not verify the reported meme coin acquisition thresholds or explain a selloff. |
| BNB | The January 2024 announcement discusses BNB in a market-performance narrative. | The reviewed sources do not establish comparable returns or independently verify that BNB maintained gains. |
| PUSHD | A token promoted in the announcement alongside a proposed e-commerce platform and presale. | The reviewed sources do not independently verify its presale claims, signup count, current terms, or performance. |
Why Binance’s later warning policy does not settle the claim
On October 1, 2024, Binance announced warning banners and an acknowledgement pop-up for selected tokens with significant tokenomics or supply changes. Its listed tokens were AVA, CHZ, ENJ, IOTA, LSK, MTL, ORN, SLF, SXP, and VANRY—not AVAX, BNB, or PUSHD. This later exchange policy concerns token risk warnings; it does not verify the January 2024 claims about Avalanche or relative asset gains. Binance: Introducing Risk Warnings for Tokens with Significant Tokenomics Changes.
What a personal-finance reader can reasonably conclude
- Treat the reported Avalanche thresholds as claims made by the January 2024 announcement, not confirmed Foundation rules.
- Do not treat the announcement’s timing and selloff narrative as proof that the criteria caused AVAX’s price movement.
- Do not interpret its BNB comparison or Pushd presale promotion as evidence of present-day gains or verified operating metrics.
- Recognize that official descriptions of Avalanche’s network and AVAX’s role answer different questions from what moved token prices.
