The deadline to choose what to do with Delta rollover Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) was December 31, 2024, at 11:59:59 p.m. Central Standard Time. It has passed. Members who made no selection by then had their entire rollover MQM balance automatically converted to Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs).
What the expired conversion covered
Delta ended the ability to earn MQMs beginning January 1, 2024. The one-time choice applied to members’ final rollover MQM balances earned through December 31, 2023, after they qualified for 2024 Medallion status. What members could choose
Members could convert rollover MQMs into miles, MQDs, or a combination of the two. The conversion rates and split increments were:

| SkyMiles | 1 mile for every 2 rollover MQMs |
| MQDs | 1 MQD for every 10 rollover MQMs |
| Split | A combination of miles and MQDs, allocated in 25% increments |
MQDs were a qualification measure for Medallion status, not cash or miles for award travel. The conversion did not make MQDs transferable.

One-year extensions for larger balances
Members with at least 100,000 rollover MQMs could use 100,000 MQMs for each one-year extension of the 2024 Medallion status they had earned. Delta did not allow partial-year extensions. Any MQMs left over after using whole 100,000-MQM blocks could be converted to miles or MQDs at the rates above. Delta’s Medallion qualification page
What happened if a member made no selection
Delta’s rule was automatic conversion of the full rollover balance to MQDs if a member did not choose by the deadline. Delta stated: “If a SkyMiles Member does not make a selection by December 31, 2024 11:59:59 PM CST, all Rollover MQMs will automatically be converted to MQDs.”

Could members change a selection or transfer the result?
No. Delta said selections were final and irrevocable. The resulting miles, MQDs, and status extensions were nontransferable and could be credited only to the SkyMiles member who held the original rollover MQMs.

The election window is closed, so members cannot now choose a different conversion or use the expired selection process. Anyone checking how their own balance was handled should review their SkyMiles account or contact Delta; the published program terms do not establish what was applied to an individual account.
