In DataX Connect’s 2026 survey, 65% of permanent-role respondents in Europe and 71% in the United States said they received a raise in the previous year. Those figures measure how many respondents got an increase—not the size of raises, average salary growth, or whether pay kept pace with inflation.
Are data center salaries going up?
The available survey evidence points to upward pay movement for many data center professionals. DataX Connect’s 2026 survey gathered responses from more than 1,700 professionals across the UK, Europe, and the United States. Among permanent-role respondents, 65% in Europe and 71% in the U.S. reported a salary increase over the prior year. DataX Connect’s 2026 survey
These are shares of respondents who received a raise, not average raise percentages. The survey figures do not establish how much pay increased, whether increases exceeded inflation, or how the average salary changed across the industry. They also should not be treated as a census: survey respondents do not necessarily represent every worker or employer.
What do data center professionals earn?
A separate DataX Connect survey reported an average annual salary of $180,951 for permanent-role respondents in the United States in 2025. This is a survey benchmark, not an official national wage estimate. It should not be directly compared with later survey results unless the respondent population, roles covered, compensation definition, and method are comparable. DataX Connect’s 2025 U.S. survey

Compensation benchmarks can differ substantially by market and job. Kelly’s 2026 guide announcement says its guide covers more than 60 data center lifecycle roles and reports location variation: its figures put Silicon Valley 34.2% above the national average and Omaha 11.8% below. These are Kelly guide figures, not a guarantee of pay for every role or employer in either location. Kelly’s 2026 guide announcement

The available figures do not provide a complete, comparable role-by-role salary table for 2025 and 2026, so they cannot establish which jobs had the largest increases.
Are raises enough to keep data center workers from changing jobs?
Not necessarily. In DataX Connect’s 2026 survey, 38.8% of permanent-role respondents in Europe and 37.8% in the U.S. said they planned to change companies within the next 12 months. In Europe, career development was the leading stated reason for considering a move, cited by 36.0%. In the U.S., salary led at 31.4%, with career development close behind at 29.5%. These responses show that pay is one factor in job changes, alongside opportunities to progress. DataX Connect’s 2026 survey

Why might pay pressure persist?
Hiring and retention challenges provide labor-market context for rising compensation. Uptime Institute’s 2025 staffing and recruitment survey covered 864 respondents; its global survey materials report that 46% had difficulty finding qualified candidates and 37% had difficulty retaining staff. These are operator-reported staffing findings, not wage measurements, and they do not prove that staffing constraints caused salary increases. What the salary trend means for workers
For employees, the survey results are a reason to check current local benchmarks and consider the full compensation package—not evidence that a particular raise is guaranteed. For job seekers, comparisons are most useful when the role, level, location, employment type, and compensation measure match. The available evidence supports a qualified upward trend in reported raises, but not a single growth rate for the data center industry.
