Deezer became MITA Festival’s master sponsor for the 2023 edition, following its first sponsorship of the event in 2022. The partnership featured a Deezer stage, Deezer Next opening artists, playlists and planned festival activations. The announcement documents a 2023 partnership; it does not establish that the sponsorship continued after that year.
How the MITA sponsorship developed
May 2022: Deezer sponsors MITA’s debut
Deezer announced its initial sponsorship in May 2022, as MITA prepared its first editions in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. The company said the partnership would connect artists and audiences through festival-inspired and artist-curated playlists, Deezer-selected opening performers in each city, and a track by two featured acts intended for release at the festival and exclusively on Deezer. The announced dates were May 14–15 in São Paulo and May 21–22 in Rio de Janeiro. Deezer’s 2022 announcement described those plans.
January 2023: Deezer announces a renewal
In January 2023, Deezer said it was renewing the sponsorship that began with MITA’s debut. The announced plans included a Deezer stage, new Deezer Next opening artists, an exclusive playlist and on-site activations for festivalgoers. The dates announced for that edition were May 27–28 in Rio de Janeiro and June 3–4 in São Paulo. These were announced plans, not confirmation that every activation took place. May 2023: Deezer is called the master sponsor
In May, Deezer explicitly described itself as MITA’s “patrocinadora master do evento” (master sponsor of the event). It named N.I.N.A. as the Deezer Next artist opening the São Paulo event and Melly as the artist opening in Rio de Janeiro. The May announcement used the phrasing “Deezer retorna como patrocinadora master do Festival MITA.”

What Deezer Next contributed
Deezer presented Deezer Next as a program supporting developing artists. For the 2023 MITA partnership, the company listed playlist promotion, participation in the event, exclusive content, social-media promotion and marketing support among the benefits. N.I.N.A. and Melly were the named opening artists for that edition.
Deezer’s music editor and editorial coordinator Eduardo Ribas described the two artists as women working across genres, mentioning rap, trap, MPB and R&B. His comments explain the company’s stated rationale for the choices; they are not an independent assessment of the artists’ careers.

What the partnership does—and does not—show
The announcements establish an initial sponsorship in 2022 and a renewal for 2023, with Deezer identified as master sponsor that year. They do not establish a post-2023 renewal or the partnership’s current status, so the master-sponsor description should be understood as historical rather than current.
Deezer also reported that Rachel Reis’s streams on its platform grew by more than 100% after her 2022 MITA performance. That is a company-reported platform figure, not an independently audited result. The announcements describe promotional plans and benefits; they do not provide evidence that each planned activation was completed.
