If the DoorDash Dasher app is not working, check for a DoorDash outage before changing your password or reinstalling anything. Then work through the low-risk fixes: update the official app, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, disable any VPN, check location and notification permissions, force-close Dasher, and restart your phone. Reinstall only after ruling out an outage—especially if you are handling an active delivery.
First, check whether DoorDash is experiencing an outage
A DoorDash-side problem is more likely when multiple Dashers report the same issue or when the app repeatedly fails to log in, crashes, start or end a Dash, pause a Dash, display completed orders, or show Earnings. Repeated DoorDash error messages across several attempts are another warning sign.

DoorDash’s outage guidance says Dashers should refresh the app and keep trying to log in during an outage. It specifically advises against resetting the password or uninstalling and reinstalling the app while the outage is occurring.
There is not necessarily a public real-time status dashboard, so do not assume that one person’s problem proves DoorDash is down for everyone. Check whether other internet apps work, look for official DoorDash communications, and ask whether other Dashers are seeing the same failure.

If an active order is in progress, avoid signing out, changing credentials, or reinstalling until you have preserved the relevant details and contacted support when possible.
Quick fixes for most Dasher app problems
- Test your connection. Open another website or app, then switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data or from mobile data to reliable Wi-Fi.
- Disable a VPN temporarily. VPNs, private DNS tools, ad blockers, and firewall apps can sometimes interfere with authentication or location services.
- Update Dasher. Use only the official Apple App Store or Google Play Store listing.
- Force-close and reopen the app.
- Restart your phone. This can clear temporary app, memory, GPS, and network-process problems.
- Check storage and operating-system compatibility. A full phone or outdated system can prevent updates and cause crashes.
DoorDash’s official troubleshooting guidance recommends checking the app version, connection, navigation settings, logging out and back in, force-closing, reinstalling, and restarting the device.
Update the official Dasher app
iPhone
- Open the App Store.
- Search for DoorDash – Dasher.
- Confirm that the publisher is DoorDash, Inc.
- Tap Update if it is available.
- Open Dasher again.
The U.S. App Store listing showed Dasher version 2.439.0 and an iOS 17.0-or-later requirement when checked in August 2026. App versions and minimum requirements change, so check the live App Store listing rather than relying on that version number.

- Open the Google Play Store.
- Search for DoorDash – Dasher.
- Confirm that the developer is DoorDash.
- Tap Update.
Use the official Google Play listing. Do not download unofficial APKs, modified versions, or sideloaded copies.
Fix Dasher connection problems
A phone can show that it is connected to Wi-Fi even when that network has no usable internet. A weak cellular signal, public Wi-Fi restrictions, a data-plan limit, or a VPN can also affect offers, maps, authentication, and order updates.

- Turn Wi-Fi off and test Dasher on mobile data.
- If that fails, turn mobile data off and try reliable Wi-Fi.
- Move to an area with stronger cellular reception.
- Turn Airplane Mode on for about 10 seconds, then turn it off.
- Temporarily disable VPN, private DNS, ad-blocking, or firewall tools.
- Retry Dasher.
Check location, data, and notification permissions
Location access is essential for receiving offers, navigation, and confirming pickup or delivery progress. Permission labels vary by operating-system version and Android manufacturer.
iPhone
Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Dasher. Make sure Location Services are enabled and Dasher has the location access permitted by the option shown on your phone.

- Settings → Cellular → Dasher: cellular data is enabled.
- Settings → Notifications → Dasher: notifications are enabled.
- Settings → General → Background App Refresh: enabled if it fits your workflow.
Android
Open Settings → Apps → Dasher → Permissions → Location, then allow the appropriate location permission. Also review mobile-data access, notifications, battery usage, battery optimization, background activity, and the phone’s main Location setting.
If Dasher opens but shows the wrong location, a frozen map, or a message saying you are not at the pickup or drop-off, permissions, GPS accuracy, or map data are more likely causes than a login failure.
Force-close Dasher and restart the phone
iPhone
Open the app switcher, find Dasher, swipe it away, and reopen it. If the problem remains, restart the iPhone using its normal manufacturer-supported restart method.

Android
Open recent apps and swipe Dasher away. If necessary, go to Settings → Apps → Dasher → Force stop, then launch it again. Restart the phone using the normal method for that model.

Fix Dasher login problems
First confirm that you are using the correct email address, password, and phone number. Test the connection and disable any VPN or private-network tool. If the app loads normally and there is no indication of an outage, logging out and back in can refresh an expired session.
DoorDash’s stated path is Account → Settings → Log Out. Reopen Dasher, enter your credentials, and tap Sign In.
Do not repeatedly reset the password during a suspected outage. A valid password being rejected can result from an outage, an outdated app, a device problem, verification trouble, or an account-specific issue. Account deactivation is not a routine app malfunction; it requires the account-specific support or appeal process.
Fix GPS and navigation problems
- Turn on device Location Services.
- Give Dasher and your navigation app location permission.
- Move outdoors or somewhere with a clearer GPS signal.
- Make sure Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze is installed and updated.
- Reopen the navigation app, then return to Dasher.
- If in-app navigation is unreliable, temporarily use the selected third-party navigation app.
DoorDash explains navigation choices in its in-app navigation guide. A third-party navigation option may be unavailable or grayed out if the relevant app is not installed or updated.

GPS drift, incorrect map pins, private roads, building entrances, and new construction are not necessarily Dasher software bugs. Do not manually change a delivery address unless DoorDash support instructs you to do so.
Dasher opens but no offers arrive
No offers does not automatically mean the app is broken or that your account is banned. If the map loads, your account is active, the Dash timer is running, the Dash is not paused, and there are no error messages, low demand may be the explanation.
DoorDash says offer volume can vary by location, time, day, season, and demand. Its troubleshooting guidance recommends checking the connection, confirming that you are logged in and not paused, considering a hotspot, trying peak periods such as lunch or dinner, and scheduling a Dash when appropriate.
Hotspots are not a guarantee of an order and may attract many Dashers. Moving to another area or testing during a busier period can help distinguish low demand from an app problem, but it does not guarantee earnings.
Reinstall Dasher safely
Reinstalling may help when local app files are corrupted or an update failed. It cannot fix a DoorDash server outage, account restriction, low demand, bad map data, or a phone that no longer meets compatibility requirements.

Before reinstalling:
- Rule out a DoorDash outage.
- Confirm that you know the account email and password.
- Use a reliable connection, preferably Wi-Fi.
- Do not reinstall while handling an active delivery unless support directs you to do so.
iPhone
Press and hold the Dasher icon, choose the remove or delete option, and reinstall it from the official App Store listing.
Android
Press and hold the Dasher icon or open Settings → Apps → Dasher, uninstall the app, and reinstall it from the official Google Play listing.
When your phone may be the problem
Check the phone itself when Dasher keeps crashing after updates, the device overheats, navigation stops in multiple apps, or the phone cannot install the current version.
- The operating system may be below the app’s current minimum requirement.
- Storage may be too full for an update.
- Low memory can contribute to crashes and restarts.
- Battery-saving settings may restrict background activity or location access.
- Overheating during navigation can cause slowdowns or shutdowns.
- A damaged GPS antenna or poor hardware can affect location accuracy.
- Rooted or jailbroken phones may have trouble accessing Dasher.
- An unofficial installation may create security and compatibility problems.
DoorDash says that a newer phone with more memory can help reduce crashes and restarts, but that is not a universal requirement to buy a new flagship phone. If replacing a device, prioritize current OS compatibility, reliable GPS, sufficient storage, battery life, cellular compatibility, and a non-rooted or non-jailbroken system.
If an active order, Dash, or Earnings record is affected
- Move somewhere with a stronger signal, if it is safe to do so.
- Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
- Capture screenshots of error messages, order numbers, timestamps, and delivery details.
- Avoid inaccurately marking an order complete.
- Contact Dasher Support through the app when possible.
- If the app cannot open, use the official support page for the current phone-support route.
DoorDash says that a completed order missing from Earnings during an outage should appear correctly after the issue is resolved. Any information about potential compensation or rating effects is communicated officially after the outage.
DoorDash’s support materials state that chat and call support are available 24/7 and have listed 855-431-0459. Verify the current number on the official Dasher support hub before calling because support channels can change.
When to contact Dasher Support
Contact support when correct credentials fail repeatedly, an active order is inaccessible, a Dash ends unexpectedly, completed work is missing from Earnings, an account restriction is involved, or the normal connection, permission, update, restart, and reinstall steps do not help.
