There is no publicly confirmed flat season salary for a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. The team describes the role as part-time and hourly, and its public materials do not disclose current pay rates or the individual hours and appearances needed to calculate a season total.
What Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders make per season
A precise, verified annual figure is not available. DCC compensation can vary with paid rehearsal hours, home-game assignments, promotional appearances, shows and experience. Because the current rate schedule and each member’s work schedule are not public, it would be misleading to present one figure as the standard season salary.
The Cowboys’ official audition information calls the position “a part-time, hourly employment opportunity.” The official audition rules describe compensation for rehearsals, home games, promotional appearances and shows, but do not list the rates.
What the reported pay figures mean
| Figure | What it describes | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| $15 an hour and $500 per appearance | Fifth-year member Jada McLean’s reported 2024 compensation, cited by The Washington Post. | Her individual pre-raise figures—not a current rate card or a universal season salary. |
| Roughly 400% increase for the 2025 season | Increase announced by members, including four-year veteran Megan McElaney, as reported by The Associated Press. | A reported percentage increase; exact new rates and annual totals were not disclosed. |
| More than $75 an hour | A figure TIME relayed as reported pay for veteran cheerleaders in its coverage of the show. | Reported context, not an official rate or enough information to calculate season earnings. TIME reported that the show did not discuss exact new rates and that the Cowboys would not confirm them to the publication. |
| $200 to $400 per game day | Historical game-day pay following a 2019 lawsuit settlement, according to AP. | Past compensation context, not evidence of the current game-day rate. |
McElaney described the 2025 change by saying, “Our efforts were heard and they wanted to give us a raise,” and, “And we ended up getting a 400% increase, which is like, life-changing.” The announcement establishes that members reported a major raise; it does not establish a single current hourly, appearance or season amount.

How the season’s workload affects earnings
The team’s current audition page describes required commitments beginning in late July and continuing through the end of the football season. It lists three to four rehearsals a week, each lasting two to three hours, and approximately 10 home games. These are stated program commitments, not a complete record of an individual member’s paid hours.
The rules identify several compensated work categories, so a member’s total depends on more than a single game-day payment. The public information does not specify how many promotional appearances or shows each member receives, how the rate schedule varies by experience, or how many hours each assignment adds. Without those details and the current rates, a season total cannot be responsibly calculated.

Why older salary claims can mislead
Online figures may refer to different seasons and types of work. McLean’s $15 hourly and $500-per-appearance figures describe her 2024 compensation, before the announced 2025 increase. The $200-to-$400 game-day change belongs to the period after the 2019 settlement. Neither figure should be presented as the current standard.
Likewise, multiplying a reported hourly rate by a guessed number of hours—or treating “roughly 400%” as a salary—does not produce a verified annual paycheck. The available public record does not provide the current full rate schedule, each cheerleader’s paid assignments, or a confirmed 2026 season total.
