Cyber Security Works Inc. announced on March 7, 2023, that it was rebranding as Securin Inc. The company said the new name reflected an expanded business combining cybersecurity services with software products. Securin’s current website describes a broader exposure-management platform and managed services; those descriptions are the company’s positioning, not an independent assessment of its products.

What happened to Cyber Security Works?

In a company-issued announcement dated March 7, 2023, Cyber Security Works Inc. said it would rebrand as Securin Inc. The release presented the change as an update to the company’s overall identity after its services and offerings had expanded. It also said Cyber Security Works acquired the Securin platform in 2022, adding attack surface management and vulnerability intelligence products to a portfolio that already included vulnerability management and penetration testing services. Why did Cyber Security Works change its name?

The company said it wanted its identity to reflect a technology-enabled security business that brought together services, software, vulnerability intelligence, and domain expertise. In the announcement, CEO Aaron Sandeen described the intended combination of services and products as a way to help customers manage and reduce their expanding attack surfaces. That is the company’s rationale for the rebrand, not evidence by itself of product effectiveness.

What does Securin do now?

Securin’s current website positions the company as an AI-native preemptive exposure-management platform provider, with related managed services. Its named offerings span several functions:

  • Securin Exposure: unified vulnerability management.
  • Securin Surface: external attack surface management.
  • Securin Validate: offensive exposure validation.
  • Securin Signals: vulnerability and threat intelligence.

The company’s homepage is the source for those product descriptions. They explain how Securin currently presents its portfolio; they do not establish independent performance results or compare the products with competitors.

Managed vulnerability operations

Securin’s Vulnerability Management as a Service page describes an expert-led service combining exposure management, attacker-informed validation, vulnerability intelligence, remediation coordination, and verification of fixes. The company presents it as an extension of a customer’s security team. Securin Vulnerability Management as a Service

What figures did the 2023 announcement give?

The release reported more than 250 employees globally and more than 700 vulnerability-intelligence feeds. These are Securin’s figures as stated in March 2023—not verified current totals. The announcement also said the company had assumed the role of a CVE Numbering Authority (CNA) in 2020 and would continue it. That records what Securin said in 2023; it does not establish the company’s current CNA status.

What the rebrand does—and does not—tell you

The announcement documents a change in company name and the portfolio strategy Securin said the new identity represented. It does not, on its own, establish current staffing or feed counts, independent product performance, or present corporate or CNA status. Readers evaluating Securin as a cybersecurity vendor should treat current product descriptions as vendor-provided information and assess offerings against their organization’s needs.
