Crypto Kombat is an older blockchain NFT battle-game project, not a newly launched play-to-earn game. It has been described as a game featuring crypto-world figures, with token staking and NFT hero cards, but the available sources do not establish whether it can still be played or whether those features are operating today.
What is Crypto Kombat?
Crypto Kombat is presented as an NFT battle game built around figures from the cryptocurrency world. Its project-linked Linktree describes it as a “Play-to-Earn battle NFT Blockchain game of real crypto heroes.” In a January 2022 grant submission to Polygon, the project called itself “the first of its kind NFT play-to-earn game on the Polygon network,” with crypto-space contributors as its battle heroes. That description and “first” claim come from the project; they are not independent confirmation of the game’s uniqueness or performance.
The project is not a recent addition based on the dates available. A Polygon grant request was posted on January 27, 2022, and CertiK lists an estimated launch date of October 14, 2020. Hero cards and battles
Crypto Kombat’s LinkedIn company description outlines hero cards with four rarity levels: Genesis, Epic, Rare, and Common. Battles are described as comparing Intelligence, Power, and Influence, with random factors also affecting results. KOMBAT, VOMBAT, and minting
The same company description says users can stake KOMBAT to receive VOMBAT, which is needed to mint NFT hero cards. This explains the proposed token relationship, but it should not be read as confirmation that staking, rewards, or minting currently work.
Is Crypto Kombat still playable?
That remains unconfirmed. The project’s official website was inaccessible to the research browser, and the accessible project-linked pages do not establish present-day game access or service status. The January 2022 Polygon grant request listed planned milestones including a testnet and beta, location features, animated battles, staking, consumables, skins, leveling, and tournaments. A forum reply dated February 3, 2022 said a $5,000 grant was approved; the request had sought $10,000. Approval does not demonstrate that the milestones were completed, and the submission should be treated as a proposal rather than a current feature list. Crypto Kombat’s Linktree points to KOMBAT trading on Uniswap and PancakeSwap, NFT collections on OpenSea and Treasureland, project documentation, contracts, and token trackers. Those links show that the project directed users toward these services; they do not establish current listings, liquidity, contract safety, or marketplace availability. Check each relevant page and contract directly rather than assuming an old link remains usable.
