Cribl announced on August 27, 2024, that it closed an oversubscribed $319 million Series E at a $3.5 billion valuation. The financing included both primary and secondary components. GV led the round, with GIC, CapitalG, IVP and CRV participating. The $3.5 billion figure is the valuation attached to that 2024 financing—not a verified present-day valuation.
What Cribl’s Series E included
Cribl’s announcement described the $319 million financing as a combined primary and secondary transaction. Primary capital is invested in the company; secondary shares give existing shareholders liquidity. Axios reported that $119 million of the transaction was a secondary offering. Cribl’s release did not publish a full allocation between the two components, so the remaining amount should not be treated as a confirmed primary-capital figure. Why the valuation needs a date
The $3.5 billion valuation was announced in connection with the August 2024 Series E. It is a financing-round valuation, not a public-market price or a verified estimate of what Cribl is worth today. The cited announcements do not establish a later valuation.

- Funding: $319 million was the total announced Series E financing; it included both primary and secondary components.
- Secondary liquidity: Axios reported $119 million in secondary shares. That figure does not, by itself, establish the exact primary amount.
- Valuation: $3.5 billion was the valuation attached to the 2024 round, not a current verified valuation.
- Operating performance: ARR, growth, retention and multi-product adoption figures were reported by Cribl and measure different things from valuation.
Cribl’s co-founder and CEO Clint Sharp said in the company announcement, “We started Cribl to solve these real problems for real users. Today’s funding proves the value in that approach.” This was Sharp’s statement about the financing, rather than an independent assessment of the company’s value. Cribl’s announcement.
