Who took over Cottesloe General Store?
PerthNow reported on 17 March 2025 that the store had been sold after 22 years under its previous owners. The business website identifies Voula as its owner. She says she has lived in Cottesloe for more than 20 years and previously owned and operated three businesses in the area.
In a statement published on the store’s website, Voula said: “It was an opportunity I couldn’t resist, so I came out of retirement to give my local community something fresh and new on Perth’s most famous beachfront.” The site also attributes to her a hospitality career of more than 30 years and describes her family as Greek migrant. Those are her own biographical statements, not independently verified records.
What was reported about the Greek-inspired revamp?
A search-indexed summary attributed to PerthNow and dated 23 June 2025 reported that the store reopened under Nelson with a Greek-inspired makeover. The summary described a white-and-blue exterior, a prominent Mati eye symbol, and Greek treats including spanakopita and bougatsa. These makeover details come from secondary coverage; they are not independently confirmed by the store’s website.

What can visitors find at the store?
Café food and drinks
The store’s published menu combines Greek-style pastries with familiar café and takeaway options. It lists spanakopita, tiropita and bougatsa, alongside burgers, fish and chips, pizza, sandwiches, salads, coffee, matcha and other drinks. The business notes that menu options and prices can change.
