The holiday Costco offer behind this headline expired on December 21, 2025. Costco’s U.S. join page displayed a different online-enrollment offer when checked on October 8, 2026: a $20 Digital Costco Shop Card for Gold Star members or $40 for Executive members, subject to eligibility and payment-card auto-renewal requirements. Because promotions can change, verify the live terms before joining.
What is Costco’s current membership offer?
Costco’s U.S. enrollment page showed an online-only Digital Costco Shop Card offer on October 8, 2026. The amount depended on membership tier:
| Membership tier | Digital Costco Shop Card shown |
|---|---|
| Gold Star | $20 |
| Executive | $40 |
These are the amounts displayed on Costco’s U.S. join page on that date, not guaranteed future terms. Check the page when you enroll; the offer can change.
Who qualifies, and what does enrollment require?
Under the offer terms displayed on October 8, 2026, eligibility was limited to new members and people who had not held any Costco membership—Primary, Household, or Affiliate—during the previous 18 months. Enrollment also required setting up membership auto renewal at sign-up using a Visa credit or debit card, or a Mastercard debit card. Costco’s page says terms apply.

How to decide whether the offer is worth acting on
- Confirm that the Shop Card promotion is still shown on Costco’s U.S. enrollment page and that your membership tier qualifies.
- Check the 18-month membership-history restriction and the listed card requirement for auto renewal.
- Choose a membership tier based on the membership benefits and dues Costco currently lists, not just the promotional card amount. The offer alone does not establish which tier is a better overall value.
- Read the terms governing the Shop Card and auto renewal before completing enrollment.
