There are separate Costco medication recall reports in the U.S. and Canada, and they involve different products. A secondary recall index reports a 2026 U.S. recall of Kirkland Signature Ultra Strength Antacid; Costco Canada directly published a 2025 notice for three lots of Kirkland Signature ibuprofen liquid gels. Neither notice means every Kirkland medicine—or every package of either product—is affected. Check the country, product, lot number and expiry date before acting.

U.S. report: Kirkland Signature antacid
A secondary recall index reports an FDA enforcement item identified as D-0557-2026 for Kirkland Signature Ultra Strength Antacid, calcium carbonate 1,000 mg, in a 265-count bottle. It identifies NDC 63981-171-80 and says the product was manufactured by Guardian Drug Company for Costco. The index reports nationwide U.S. distribution, small metallic particles in chewable tablets, a recall initiation date of May 28, 2026, an FDA classification date of June 3, 2026, and a report date of June 10, 2026. It labels the classification Class II. FDA recall information is the appropriate place to check for an official notice; the specific report and its current status were not independently confirmed here.
The secondary index lists these lots: 1716059, 1716060, 1716061, 1716062, 1716063, 1716218, 1716219, 1716228, 1716229 and 1716238, with an expiry of February 28, 2029; and lot 1716258, with an expiry of March 31, 2029. Compare the lot and expiry printed on your bottle with the list, but do not treat the index as a substitute for current official instructions.
The index describes the report as ongoing, but that status and any consumer directions are not confirmed by an official product-specific notice here. If your bottle appears to match, check FDA and Costco’s current recall information for the confirmed status and next steps rather than applying the Canadian ibuprofen instructions to this U.S. product.

Canada notice: Kirkland Signature ibuprofen liquid gels
Costco Canada published a voluntary recall notice on November 28, 2025, for Kirkland Signature Ibuprofen Extra Strength Liquid Gel Capsules, 400 mg, 120 count, item 213660. Costco says its records indicate a customer may have purchased the item at a warehouse between October and November 2025. The notice names Apotex as manufacturer and QHP as distributor, and says the recall was initiated in alignment with Health Canada because three lots contained cloudy capsules. Costco says the issue would not affect the product’s risk-benefit profile if used before expiry, but that the recall was initiated out of caution. Read the Costco Canada recall notice for the full notice.

How to tell whether your package is affected
- Identify the product and country where it was sold. The U.S. report concerns antacid; the Canadian notice concerns ibuprofen liquid gels.
- Find the lot number and expiry date on the package. A matching brand name or medicine type by itself does not establish that a package is included.
- Compare both details with the relevant notice. For the U.S. antacid report, verify the information against a current official FDA or Costco notice because the details above come from a secondary index.
- Follow the instructions from the notice for that product and region. If you have health questions, consult a healthcare provider; do not use one recall notice’s instructions for another product.
Older Costco Canada acetaminophen notice
A separate, historical Costco Canada notice concerned Kirkland Signature Extra Strength Acetaminophen Tablets 500 mg, item 244230, DIN 00605778, lot code 0C26550UZ. Costco said Vita Health Products Inc. voluntarily recalled the lot because dissolution was out of specification. It was sold in Canadian warehouses only from May 2021 through March 2022, so this notice is not evidence of a current recall. The notice body also renders the code as “OC26550UZ”; consult Costco Canada’s recall information if checking an old package.
A separate FDA page about Kirkland Signature strawberries describes a food recall, not a medication recall, and says that food recall was completed and terminated. It does not establish anything about the status of either medicine report.
